All objective observers know this to be true.

Here are those who have won this tournament the most often:

Federer - 6
Djokovic - 5
Lendl - 5
Sampras - 5

Nadal has 0 titles.

What it tells us?

That Nadal is only good on slow courts.
In the 90's he would have won 13 Gs including 13 Fo 9 Rome 12 MC 5 madrid 12 Barcelona Acapulco Buenos aires rio estoril and maybe Canada Open.

Obviously you are clueless. He was already winning masters on fast HC since 2005......

We can always create stupid hypotheticals like you have done.

Lmao, man I respect the WTF and everything but ain't no such thing as "5th most important tournament". There is slams, big slam matches against main rivals and then there is everything else such as general achievements which may include Masters, WTF etc.

That fits into the "everything else" category as well.

10. Canadian Open
Well, the ATP finals are worth 1500 pts, slams 2000, and all the masters tournament 1000 pts. So those points do support your statement that it’s the 5th biggest tournament.

It's also the ATP's biggest tournament, and yet Nadal can't win it.

The reality is that Nadal has chosen to focus on his strengths from mid-career onwards.

It has paid great dividends, but it does make his CV look more one-dimensional as a consequence.

This is just a random list lol.
Ask any pro player what they would rather have out of a m1000 and a WTF all will say m1000. They have said so!

Really? They'd choose 1000 ATP points over 1500 ATP points with more prize money? I could understand if it was Shapovalov choosing Canadian Open or Fognini Italian Open. But for most other players 1500 points would be more tempting.

There’s a since for everything. Federer hasn’t won the USO since 2008.
Yeah, good point. But your initial statement, ¨he was winning them since 2005¨ would have been kind of misleading to someone who doesn´t watch.
And yeah, London and Shanghai are the only ones I would consider ¨fast¨.

London’s slow.

so realistically the only chance was Shanghai. Which was previously Madrid, and he won it once.

Machan, you are a decent poster most of the time, but you are also becoming a Federer hater.

Sorry machan, I sometimes get caught up in all the trolling. My best friends dad once told me, tell me who you associate with and I'll tell you who you are :)

Take my trolling lightly please because there's nothing personal :)

I would agree that the YEC is the 5th biggest tournament on the ATP tour. I don't think many would disagree.

But is it a bigger than the Olympics? Frankly...I don't know...

They had to increase points and prize money to ensure players did not pull out!! That is exactly why it is not as big as Nadal haters like to think it is.
