Just ordered one of these as well. Any tips on potentially shaving down the stock weight a little bit? I'm currently running a BLX Blade. I was thinking I might replace the CAPS with a lighter grommet set.

I swapped out the CAPS on my old PT280 with microgel radical grommets & shaved off 14 gm at the expense of making it even more HL.
If you string with super thin 20 gauge, should shave off some more weight too.
Could swap out with a Wilson featherlight replacement grip to try to compensate but it will drop down the grip size somewhat.

Losing the CAPS will definitely affect the plow, stability, and feel - some may like the changes but some may not.

Blx blade is an awesome racket & I find myselft drifting back towards it from time to time - it's more in my weight range & is one of the best serving rackets I've ever come across. I think I will always keep this stick in my stable.

Yes, the radical s old mold (microgel, youteck, ig) reduce the weight considerably

I don’t get the complaining. If you want Head to make brand new PT630s in Austria for you, you have one option: be a touring Pro (actually be one of the best touring Pros). Or buy Prostocks off the big auction site. Otherwise let it go. It’s not happening.

just be happy head even did this AND from all accounts it plays great. Looks great and they made grommets too. Amazing.

I WISH I could get some 2.0 versions of other past rackets I loved from other manufacturers. Matter of fact, I hope this does so well this becomes a trend.
Popyrin isn’t one of the best touring pros tho

Kudos to Head for doing this , and for the price. I do like that its not just a PT280 rerelease, and they upped the stiffness and im assuming the twistweight to make it a more modern feeling and less demanding racquet. A 16*19 would be great, but you cant have everything i guess.

I would be interested to know what was the last Head racquet to use fibreglass if indeed it does..... any ideas, anyone?

Thanks Howie!

Actually every racquet not only from HEAD (still) has glassfiber as part of the layup though the main material is of course carbon.

Popyrin is currently ranked 103, and was as high as 87 back in July 2019.
How many touring pros would you guess there are, counting futures and other paying ITF tournaments?

And there's hardly more than a handful players better ranked that play with a Prestige. Is there any besides Cilic btw?

Why is it bad?
I just prefer it for feel. I find that with more 'modern' retail racquets a foam-filled handle tends to take care of the 'tinny' feel that has been an issue with some of the newer frames I've tried. All my remaining Head racquets are silicon-filled and while I wasn't expecting that I was at least hoping for a bit of foam like the Ultra Tour. Not a dealbreaker, just wondering.

This racket is not tinny at all.
just like the original (also empty) - very solid

I think people dont need to get too hung up on certain specs, e.g. RA/foam-filled grip/etc. Us hacks only know so much (little) about racquet design. How the racquet plays is the only thing that matters and so far everything seems promising.

Anxiously awaiting delivery of my order!

Ah okay! Now that you mention it i think i remember seeing fibreglass in the hairpin when changing pallets.

Neither is Brown therefore the perception that only best get those sticks is...wrong

ok. If people want to focus on a tree and miss the forest that’s fine. You have to be a touring pro or be good enough for head to want to give you some or have connections. Is that better?

I was lucky to receive a Pro Tour 2.0 about a week ago. Strung with a leather grip that I put on, I get 63RA on my Babolat RDC machine. TW’s RDC machine is always higher than my RDC machine. After having played with it 63RA feels right to me. It’s pretty plush and not harsh playing. It’s got that 57A DNA in there
It may be too early in the piece for you to comment VS, but how do you feel the 2.0 compares to the reissue of 2000 and the the original?

Thanks for the suggestion! I also own a PT 280 without caps and have actually never used a racket with. Let's see how it plays. Covid will keep me indoors for a while, but my first hit is going to be with this guy.

I play with Volkl C10 Pro and I noticed this racquet is listed in the similar ones.
Are these 2 really similar?
I am tempted to try one but would like to know what to expect coming from a C10
In the podcast Chris gives his thoughts on the comparison between the two. The jist of it I got was that he needed to string the C10 much higher because with its more open string pattern the ball could really fly, however the tighter string pattern of the 2.0 made its launch angle much more neutral. I guess this gives us a lot more options with stringing polys at lower tensions with the 2.0. People on here have commented that the C10 is string sensitive, in contrast I have read many posts here saying you can string just about anything in a PT280/630 and it will feel great. From my own perspective I haven't found a string yet that works for me in the C10, however I have liked just about everything I have strung in my Radical Bumblebee and Zebra (strictly speaking not PT280/630's but from the same mold).

Patiently waiting for my 2.0 to arrive. All my other old PT's have non-original non-cap grommets. Just a bit worried by the possible less headlight balance. Anyone has compared the capped 2.0 to the old un-capped PT? Anyway I'll expect the adjustment won't be too difficult. Just curious.

Does Cilic really play with a prestige tho?

You have the option to unCAP the 2.0.
even with CAPs it is well balanced and the SW is nice.

Just ordered one.

Low expectations but hey, the paint job is cool, the mold is iconic and vsbabolat didn't curse it out.

Will put it head to head with a pristine PT57A candy cane someone I know forgot in the attic for 15 years.
