I noticed that too but I thought it was just be me. The wrist snapback on contact was missing. Also, they showed ball RPM on strokes and Fabio was hitting with more avg spin by a few hundred than Rafa. That never happens. Could be that Rafa was hitting flatter on purpose. But regardless, Rafa's forehand was very clearly missing the zing.

Fog just outplayed him. He did everything right, except that he chocked a bit when he had 3 match points. He was moving better, he was aggressive, nice drop shots, great winners. I'm sure you'll be able to watch some highlights on YouTube. And no, Rafa is not injured btw.

Actually Nadal said because Mallorca is an island, he is more used to the wind than some others. He might change his tune now though seeing as he said this before the Pella match. :O

Wasn't the wind. There was no pop, except sporadically, in Nadal's shots. There was no pop generally; he looked strangely subdued and flat, grunts notwithstanding. I guess the turnaround on back to back playing days is getting harder and harder now. Which means he should still be ok for French Open.

The wind was really bad during the Lajovic Medvedev match. Nadal usually plays great when it's windy. He was simply outplayed today. No ifs or buts. Fabio was just fabulous today .

Rafa was poor, he was making lot of errors, the serve was very weak, struggled continuously with the wind. Mindwhile Fabio was excellent on both wings, great acceleration, really an all around impressive performance from him. Makes me sad that this Fabio doens't show up more often, because he is something to see.
