Is there anything Djokovic does better than Medvedev currently

That's only because you're stubborn, and even more stubborn when you're flat-out wrong.
Lol that is weak. I can pick who i like. I would back Medvedev if they played today. I do not think Djokovic wins a Major again. You may disagree. Does not make you stubborn.

Djokovic bounces the ball very well before he serves. A lot of precision and consistency with the continuous bounce. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Oh and the boob throw salute of course, Djokovic has the edge with that too. 8-B
This one must be suffering bad over the last 24 hours.:-D:D

Medvedev has a better serve no doubt and maybe now a better BH. Movement is better and fitness is.
Everything else Djokovic has but i suspect if and when the meet again Medvedev wins .
Med’s BH inferiority was on display in several crucial exchanges.

He won their next and last match at the Open, so I'd say Petros learned the lesson of history well.

We will see what happens tomorrow.

Safin was full of injuries in 2001 and was half the player. He got beat a few months later in Australia, despite Safin preoccupying himself with a handful of women draining him every day and night

Funny thread :)

I made a similar one before RG2020 final...
I said Novak will easily beat Nadal, LOL
I was typing thread while first games were played, and after I clicked "Post" button I turned on the TV. Immediately I knew the thread was a mistake... Oh, I wish I turned Tv on before clicking "post" button... big LOOOL for me...

Anyway, I think next time Novak will beat Nadal at RG ;)

What predictions? I see no prediction in the OP.
You are right - no predictions. Just a bunch of dumb, ignorant, simpleminded and irrational opinions by someone who does not seem to play tennis. The only question to be asked is ‘What were you high on when you posted it?’

Excuses. Pete was having the worst year of his career in 01, himself "half" the player in Australia in 02.

Not many seemed to disagree before the match, troll. Hindsight is 20/20. I probably play tennis more than you do and only deluded fanboys like yourself thought Djokovic had been playing better tennis than Med in the last coupe of months.

Pete was smoking that tournament, may very well have won it if not for the back to back semi and final without any rest between.

That could've been right. He did play well. For me he is as good as any player in history.

The way you put it, it does not deserve discussing. Ridiculing? Maybe.
I was among the handful who selected Novak in 3 BEFORE the match. Medvedev had been losing in early rounds in quite a few tournaments, both clay and hard court, before suddenly "turning on" to win 20 in a row. He is still the same player as last fall, but probably coped with the Covid quarantine situation better than others.

As a guy who never followed tennis and just started playing 3 months ago, let me share my professional opinion after watching Djokovic vs Medvedev highlights on YouTube:

Djokovic has more efficient footwork, and more powerful forehand driven from his core. Medvedev seemed to be moving his feet a lot, and his arm-dominated swing gave him a less powerful offense. I think that's why the first set was close, and the second two were not (Medvedev having less efficient style and thus losing energy.)

I'm on the Tecnifibre bandwagon and appreciate all-court players so I'm happy to see Med doing well. He did great at capitalizing on opportunities to hit passing shots and win points at the net. I think if he could pick up a little more core power, and hit the ball a little more in front (thus moving closer to BL) it would give him a much more powerful offense against someone like Djokovic.

Omfg this thread

Meddy genuinely believed he could win the match, no way he would have done the pre-final ****housery otherwise. Then he folded like a cheap tent against the king

Standing the furthest from the baseline to receive serve?

About the only thing I would have given Medvedev 18 months ago was the serve. Now, I'm not sure so sure he'd even get that. There isn't a single thing that he does consistently better than Djokovic.

You win. He is ranked no. 1 at standing furthest from the baseline and no. 1 at steps needed to recover from a return.

His serve is really good but Novak has just upped his service games to an absurd level.
