Using Google Translate: Ivanisevic says.

"We are watching Nadal and everything is the same as always, but it is not the same.
These are perfect conditions for Novak, but not for Nadal. Nadal will always beat the ones he needs to beat.
I am counting on Novak - Nadal final in which, in my opinion, Nadal has no chance in such conditions, on this kind of clay court and with Novak who has already entered his head.
I went a little too far, but I think Novak is the number one favorite of Roland Garros ", said Ivanišević

I want to know who Federer fans are cheering for if it's a Nadal/Djokovic final.
Have they warmed up to Nadal finally and don't mind if he ties Federer in the Slam count?
Or are they pinning all their hopes on Djokovic now to stop Nadal from tying Federer?
Also, I still put Nadal as the favourite. A French Open final takes a whole different level of mental strength. First set will be crucial for Djokovic.

Doesn't matter. He's wrong anyway. Nadal "has a chance" on PC against absolutely everyone no matter what month RG is played in.

But I suspect this is just a coaches move for mind game purposes. Same as how Toni and Rafa always underplay their chances.
I agree with Ivanisevic that it's a different ball game in these conditions but the part about "no chance" for Nadal is nonsense. Even PCB had a chance. Tsitsipas will have a big chance too. Even if Novak gets to final, in what physical shape will he be? Too many variables to be cocksure about the outcome of the tournament.

With these crazy conditions, I would not count out Diego or Stefanos. Something is bound to happen where we may not see the Nadal-Djokovic matchup.

He's basically saying that Nadal is dominating like usual, but that he will be exposed by the time he faces a top player who the conditions suit.

It's probably close to 50/50 if they both make the final (and Novak isn't injured). Goran is obviously going to hype Novak up.

Well 50/50 is the theoretically odds of them making it. Id say more like 80/20 realistically. Agreed the big variable is Novak being able to stay healthy in his SF.

Djokovic has plenty of demons against Nadal at RG. 6 losses to the same guy at the same slam will leave mental scars on anyone. And he knows fully well that the only version of Rafa he beat at RG was well below his best in 2015, so in his mind that win might as well not even count.

Goran is reinforcing Djokovic's psychology. He has to make Novak believe Rafa won't have any special advantadges on clay this time in an RG final, or else Novak will probably crumble. Goran also hopes to get into Nadal's head.

The psychological dynamic is fascinating. Probably why Djokovic is having these phantom "injuries" as well. For all his dominance this year, I don't think Novak truly believes he can beat Rafa in a final at RG. Hence the big man talk from Goran, and the "injuries" that will give Djokovic all the excuses he needs if he loses to Rafa.

If Novak gets Diego in the final, he'll brush him aside easily and you won't hear anything about any injury. If it's Rafa in the final, the "injury" narrative will be played up to death.

No doubt. I think this is Djokovic's best chance yet with Nadal still being the favourite, but Djokovic has too be 100% obviously. He can't come out and just donate the first set like against PCB.

But I also think/hope Novak will be fine and that he'll beat Tsits with not too much effort because I want to see a Djokodal final. Well being a Fed fan I wouldn't pass on Diego vs Tsits truthfully, but since I know the percentage chances of that are in the negatives, I want Djokodal.

Anyway, his injury didn't seem serious.
