Murray: Djokovic is going to have to drop off if I'm going to win in Melbourne

If Nadal isn't a pusher, nobody is a pusher.

Nadal's winners per match is an all-time-great joke.

His distance to the baseline is another ATG joke.

He's a legend, even a GOAT candidate but anybody saying he's aggressive must be abnormal.

You mean mentally challenged?

Nadal a pusher? LOL, the GOATever delusional poast on TTW. :D

Just a hint: Nadal hits with probably more RHS than anybody on tour. Another hint: It takes time to unleash his big swing, so hence like Wawrinka, he stays far behind baseline. Pushers can bunt the ball back at baseline no problem.

"In tennis, a pusher is a defensive player who "pushes" back any shot they can chase down, without deliberately hitting a winner. They can angle shots, aim deep, as well as produce effective lobs. Pushers are extremely quick and consistent, rarely making errors"

Wikipedia.

Now replace "pusher" with "Nadal", "they" with "he" we have:

"In tennis, Nadal is a defensive player who "pushes" back any shot he can chase down, without deliberately hitting a winner. He can angle shots, aim deep, as well as produce effective lobs. Nadal is extremely quick and consistent, rarely making errors"

Match perfectly!!!

1. Nadal hits with probably more RHS than anybody on tour: Of course with that distance if RHS is not enough the ball can never reach the net!

2. Another hint: It takes time to unleash his big swing, so hence like Wawrinka, he stays far behind baseline + 3. Pushers can bunt the ball back at baseline no problem: Great! Far = Big, Far = Agressive, Close = Pusher. Epic!

Maybe.

Just because somebody always call Djokovic a pusher, and you know, Joker is a thousand light-years more aggressive than that man.

Yah this ^^^^ double standard has always made me laugh.

That's Djokovic, an aggressive counterpuncher. Murray is a defensive counterpuncher = pusher. Nadal is a baseline grinder.

Actually I'm OK with somebody saying Nadal is aggressive.

I'm just not OK with Somebody saying Nadal is more aggressive than Djokovic, Joker is a pusher.

If you don't mean that, please accept my aplogy

He plays 15 tournaments out that I say He loses 6/7 LOSSES IN 2016. In 2011 He had only 2 losses in 9 months. 75-7 or 77-6 Either way Its going to be a 90%+, am I being realistic? Too optimistic? Unrealistic?

I agree. I came to exactly the same conclusion: 6-7 losses. I'll wait to see his form at the AO first though, but I'm doubtful he'll be as dominant as last year. Still the best though.

Actually, I'll up it to 8 losses.

Perhaps 9 losses because we need to get our priorities right as we have the olympics to play this year. Who ever wins Olympics will be tired burnt out ?

Murray at his best can definitely take out Djokovic at AO if he makes sure to play his best points on the big points. There's no doubt in my mind. I see Murray as a guy who can realistically beat Djokovic to win the AO despite his horrible record, and yet strangely I don't see Federer with any realistic shot despite his way way better recent record against Djokovic.

My intuition tells me strange things often.

Murray will NEVER beat Djokovic at AO. NEVER!

2 Slam 4 Masters + WTF + Olympic Medal. For me it will be better than Nadals 08,13 and Feds 05.

I meant Djokovic had been closer to beating Nadal at RG before he finally did (in response to Nachiket), then Murray has been to beating Novak.

The semi in '12 actually would be a good counterpoint though, I forgot about that (Murrayovic 5 setter), however that wasn't a final and at 1 and 2 seeds, I just can't see Murray beating Novak in a final there. He's had 3 chances and failed in predictable ways. It took a massive drop for Novak to beat Rafa at RG and in the QF, not the final.

Doesn't matter if it was not final. He was so close to beat Djokovic maybe their ranking changes and Murray beats Djokovic.

Nadal had his worst year for over a decade and Djokovic still couldn't capitalize when it really counted.

Lol. Cry me a river. Nadal got beat. Roger got beat. Sorry if Finland is calling them. Its natural process. Don't cry too much okay.

And I am not too still you called me out big dumb.

I pointed out Djokovic's victory over Nadal at the FO is a little different to expecting Murray to beat a peaking Djokovic at the AO.

Your response...

Don't think I'm the one who escalated things here ;)

Yep, I think you are the one who escalated things. Djokovic could beat Nadal at RG, worst year, don't show up then. Only a coward will give excuse. Who the **** cares if he lost as argument is about beating Nadal.
Murray can beat Djokovic at AO maybe this year maybe next so EVER is not good statement.

I assume you have big respect for Federer straight setting Djokovic at the AO in 2007 then right?

Doesn't matter. Old man did what he was supposed to do. As far as Murray goes, he is same age as Novak. And has played him close once in AO and many times in other slams. He may beat Novak here one day.

Nice way to avoid answering.

Murray may beat Djokovic at the AO one day. But what happened at the FO 2015 is largely irrelevant unless you're trying to say Djokovic may one day enter the AO in poor form.

Who knows how poor Nadal was going to be in RG. I don't know the answer. Beating someone is killing all the possibilities in next rounds. Novak did that.
If Novak comes in AO in poor form, good for Andy.

Nadal said literally the same thing after Novak 2011, Roger now hopes that Novak level will drop off , but there is only Murray to be bashed for similar words:rolleyes:

On this site people find excuses to bash Murray mainly from Feddites and Nadalians.

man, people like you who like throwing pics of players when they're crying and failing, be it any of Nole, Fed or Nadal just seem very petty. This isn't different from poster with avatar of players crying and at their worst moment. You lots have to sort that out, it shows pettyness

I was told to carry on crying because Federer and Nadal had lost. So I showed a picture of Djokovic collecting a runner up plate. I was simply showing that Djokovic left Paris a 'loser' too.

It's just banter. Novak's tears aren't even visible in that picture.

That and couple more Novak pictures from RG are the most frequently posted pics at this place 2015. They somehow think that Novak fans are ashamed of it and they think that they'll insult those who root for him by posting pictures of his tears.I can speak only for myself but I belive that many fans are far from being ashamed and insulted by his loss ,even though it was heartbreaking . I can accept that other player was just better than him in that F. Almost every Novak fan gave credit to Wawrinka and we moved on to Wimbledon. Novak himself went to dinner with Wawrinka soon after it.Highly doubt that ashamed and bitter person could do it especially at lighthearted way as Novak done.

I've seen plenty of Federer crying pics thrown around plenty of time, in fact some have those even as avatars which I find quite saddening. I mean it's ak to throw banter at each other and disliking certain other players(which I actually find quite odd given none of us know these guys personally nor have they done any wrong to any of us) but relieving oneslef in someone else's failure is very sad.

I've always felt bad seeing these player look that beaten and desperate. Don't get me wrong they can't just win every time but emphasizing with someone feeling down can't escape us.

I doubt it's even about specific fanbases, but posters in general do that a lot(be it Nole, Fed, Nadal or any other successful player out there).

Federer cries when he wins as well.

Basically a big crybaby.
