He is a different animal at slams. Wow. You can feel the intensity even though Youzhny is barely there himself.

Glad to see Rafa's intensity is back up.

Now I'll wait for Rosol to lose his R1 match so I don't have to hear about him anymore. ;)

Youzhny knows he has no chance at winning but the professional in him says to keep on fighting. Gotta love the spirit.

Nadal wins. Got better with every set. Youzhny poor throughout. All in all, Rafa looked pretty good. Should be interesting with his next matches.

So Nadal gets his 1st win of the season. If he can up his game in next rounds, I think he has a chance at Double Career Slam.

Well I must admit, I didn't expect him to play that well.

Very positive signs from this match, moved well, hitting well, serve back up there.

1 round at a time though, let's see what he produces in 2nd round...

Rosol has a point to prove that his one win wasn't a fluke so Rafa will have a challenge on his hands if they meet although I'm told that h/c is Rosol's worst surface.

That's funny..... I would think fluke more with a 12-0 loss record finally winning....

Nah, I'm still not convinced he can win the whole thing.

If he can consistently back it up, then I'll start.

Very happy with today's performance though...

Oh cut the crap already!

He is pretty much a lock for the final unless somebody like Rosol can get hot on a slow hc which I very much doubt.

You can't rule Nadal out in any slam unless it is W these days. People need to learn that lesson already. It is still early and anything can happen but I would be very surprised if Nadal loses early.

Hey listen you, I'm entitled to my opinion, if you don't like it stiff ****.

I didn't say he'd lose early either, I said I'm still not convinced he can win it and after 1 match against a washed up 32 year old, there is still a long way to go.

Nadal continues his march toward 18 slam titles by the age of 30, bye bye Noserer.

Lucky I placed my bet before the match when Nadal was 9-1 at my betting agency, because you watch as all the sheep place their bets now that their eyes have been opened (and Nadal will probably be only 5-1 now).
