She probably won't beat Maria. But think about it like this: if she does manage to win, what a wonderful way to do it: in the final of a major. She'll be the underdog despite the seeding, which might suit her. If she doesn't win, it's still a good run. I personally think Halep's game is more suited to win at the US Open or Australia, so this is a bonus at this point in her meteoric rise.
