Ridiculous Zverev Hype

Zverev recently won a glorified exo tournament, six months after his first Grand Slam quarter-final and now the hype surrounding him is absurd. Never have I seen this much hype. Thiem, Tsitsipas, and Tomic hype is kind of funny, but saying Zverev will reach a Grand Slam semi-final? Come on.

Is it all a big joke or something?

not to mention he didn't even beat any decent players to win that glorified exo...

Guess were all looking for, or just expecting, that eventually, maybe sooner than later, because of the ways of the world, a change from the current, or at least slightly different from today, a dawn will emerge, from the known parameters of the past, that will show, or at least spawn the idea, of a future to behold, that will encompass, the expectations of the learned, to provide, a certain semblance of order, by which a satisfaction with time spent, observing a dual of talent, between to opposing forces, trying to limit each others abilities, to claim a mastery of the form, of the sport we call tennis.

Not sure if serious...

You'd have to be completely blind to tennis if you think that Zverev isn't likely to at least make a slam SF in 2019... FFS, he's probably going to make at least two slam SFs next year...

Even before Z won the YEC he was the most likely player to WIN a slam in 2019 after Novak and Rafa...

Z is a bit of a clownshow personality wise but his tennis talent (especially compared to the lost gen and the next gen) literally jumps out of your TV and smacks you in the face with a two by four...

Lol im no Zverev fan but it's not hype.

^ This.

The hype about Shapo is definitely more over the top than that about Zverev. Sure, there is more hype about Zverev. But he has won the wtf and three masters and finished as year-end #4 twice. What has Shapo ever done?
Dude hits a pretty FH.

Its the Kyrgios hype that puzzles me

Zverev has better overall ground strokes than del potro but movement is more caustic, and could prove limiting over the longterm. For many some reason delpo was and still is so smooth with his footwork around court. Zverev will need to improve his mid court game and volley to take pressure off his body and protect his career.

Would have given a like had it not been for these spelling mistakes:

"Guess were..."
"between to opposing"
"limit each others abilities"

Great trolls sprinkle some truth in occasionally to maintain credibility. This is one such thread and what an objective case it is. Like all your threads, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Shapo was hyped by Federer fans and the media primarily when he beat Nadal. Shaps has fallen since then. I think he too feels the pressure otherwise probably would have been fine. Still quite young though so plenty time left to come around.
