Sinner's achievements since August 2023

Sinner has been on a tear these past 6 months and I think we can all say he's the best player in the world right now and it's really not all that close.

Aug 2023 - Won Canadian Open (first career Masters)
Oct 2023 - Won Beijing (beating Alcaraz and Med)
Oct 2023 - Won Vienna (beating Med in finals)
Nov 2023 - Finals at WTF (beat Nole in RR and lost to a determined Nole in the finals who was chasing a record)
Nov 2023 - Won Davis Cup for Italy (beat Nole in the semifinals en route to knock out Serbia)
Jan 2024 - Won Australian Open (first career major beating Nole and Med)
Feb 2024 - Won Rotterdam
Mar 2024 - Won Miami (crushed Med and an in-form Dimitrov)

He's 49-5 since the Canadian Open last year, 42-3 since Beijing in October, and he's 22-1 to start 2024. He's beating all his rivals too going 3-1 against Djokovic, 5-0 vs Medvedev, and 2-1 vs Alcaraz. Clay season will be very interesting as Alcaraz becomes the favourite to win these events on the dirt through to RG but Sinner should still be very capable on clay as well

The Sinner who won Canada last year is different from the one that came at Beijing.

Beijing is the true arrival of Sinner, that week something changed in him. He has not looked back since.

Sinner can't control the outcome of his matches vs. elite players.

We saw it in the AO Final when Medvedev's forehand was at peak velocity for the first 2 sets, then the 6hr difference caught up with Med and forehand drops 10km.
We saw it at the ATP Finals when Djokovic totally annihilated Sinner in the Final.
And we saw it at Indian Wells when the genius Alcaraz played Sinner like a puppet.

Sinner def. Medvedev 36 36 64 64 63
Djokovic def. Sinner 63 63 in the Final of the ATP Finals.
Alcaraz def. Sinner 16 63 62 in the SF of Indian Wells.

Agreed I just thought it would be convenient to also include his first Masters title since it happened just a couple months prior but yes up until Beijing, he was still viewed as a player a couple tiers below Djokovic/Alcaraz

I understand your point.

I remember the title wasn't looked at with immense respect as many players were either not there or in bad form for that event. But, it is a big title win nonetheless.
