On Sunday, Djokovic faces the ATP race leader in the RG Final. A win would launch him 600 points ahead of Tsitsipas going into his pet slam. It might be all she wrote after that. Tsitsipas is probably the only person that has a serious shot at #1 this year. Win, and he has a shot, lose and he's very nearly eliminated.

Will he match or exceed his career best result at SW19? He just went 4 rounds better than previous best at RG; if he does that again he’s a finalist.

Tsitsipas looks like a pretty sure bet to run himself into the ground this year. RG final is his 47th match, he's entered into Halle, and IW is also yet to be played this year.

I think Medvedev has a better outside shot of going on a HC tear and maybe Djokovic falls flat again at some point.

Well in fairness, I had mentally written in Nadal as the French Open titleist and now I'm penciling in Djokovic as the French and Wimbledon titleist. Maybe we'll just have to wait and see what happens in the next 4 weeks. But Djokovic winning the Channel Slam and 3/4ths of the Grand Slam should pretty much lock him in for 2021, though.

Quarter opponents. That's a tough quarter with the winner of Felix and Hubert playing Fed in the 2nd round before matching up against Medvedev if it goes chalk.

One way or another, we have a 3 way battle for YE No 1. Med, Tsitsi and Novak. RG final and Wimbledon will tell us more, since i dont expect Novak to play in China and IW. Tokyo, Cincy, NY, Paris and Torino is his most likely shedule. Maybe even without Cincy, and he has to win about 6k points if he wins RG to be YE No1. Not an easy task since Tsitsi and Med are in their prime now.

Ranking is not wrong, they are assigned numbers, problem is atp promoting their events unnecessarily, no way 2 masters are equal to one slam, slam should be assigned 3000 or 3500.

Fed also addressed the 360 points you get at Slam QF being somewhat low in one interview some years back. If we look down the list there are obvious questionable margins. Like the 3rd round of a Slam is worth 90 points as making QF of a 500 event. But there are 500 events where the QF is the 2nd round of the tournament and more than likely a much weaker draw. Depending on seeds of course winning 6 sets to make the 3rd round of a Slam should be more rewarded than winning 2 sets of a lower tier 500 tournament.

Masters of course as you mentioned only have a 1 round disparity from Slams, ie Masters SF worth same as Slam QF, QF same as R16, etc.
