Wow that's a huge fail in quality control. Unfortunetly I didn't measure the SW. Weight was 335gm strung and balance point was around 33.2 cm strungDo you have swingweight for that racquet? I got two 305s, one is 318SW and the other 337SW...

I measured my TF40 305 with a swingweight of 321, and that's with NRG2 16g mains, PTP 1.2 crosses. I used the method of hanging the racquet off the edge of table and measured pendulum swings with the swingtool app.

Specs are just weight and balance. +/- 7g gives a lot of room.

That tool is limited, will not give you any reference to trust... unless you have measured the SW.

Does it chip more easily than other brands?
The TFight demo racquets at my tennis shop are still looking great but I don’t know, maybe not a lot of players are demoing them. In comparison, Wilson frames seem always very beaten.
I know some find it stupid, but I don’t like too much when my racquet gets a lot of chips very easily. Could you elaborate on the issue of paint quality for TFights?
Over the last few years, I have been pretty happy with Prince and Head, curious to know if Tecnifibre is significantly worse.

How does this work? Do you just not string the last cross at the bottom? If so, that won’t affect the density of the rest of the string bed, but it might affect the overall stringbed stiffness. Would you actually notice a difference in liveliness and launch?

A little update would be nice, I have two tf40s and don’t mind my third racket being a little different (I don’t think I’ve ever broken two strings in one match so it would only get used for fun anyway)

Just in case TF product managers or engineers are still reading this, y'all need to put the XTC Ltd 315 in the permanent lineup alongside the TF40. 18M preferred. And guarantee grommets for 5+ years.
You'll sell plenty. (I'd make it a little more head light, stock, but that's my only quibble).

I believe that grommets are available at TW... but that is something that we buy in anticipation according to user "abuse".

I just string the mains slightly lower. Or leave the top cross quite loose. Tension hardly ever stays there anyway.
First time posting in this thread but way overdue. It's always swung a little funky. Like there were CAP grommets except without all the benefits. But I don't even like the feel of cap grommets a whole lot anyway.
Btw, what's with the inversed ribbing on the outside of the hoop? It's not advertised as any technology I can tell. What does it do? Does it do anything? Maybe I think the feel? It's not symmetrical on both sides either. Never heard anyone comment about it.

Just strung up my XTC 305 with a gut-poly hybrid. Very nice response. Jury is out on tension maintenance and durability in the 18x19 pattern. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the racquet, frequently dumping it for my Six.One 95, Becker London Tour, or Kneissl White Star Pro Masters, but I do play well with it. I still think it'll be the one for me as I get older. It's just a bit light for me at times.
Anyone else playing the XTC 305 still? I can't see a reason to upgrade to the TF or RS.
Love the grommet design, by the way. Those tie off points are something every racquet should have.

me too but i would like Technifibre to develop a new profiled poly for all those who dont have the precise flat low strokes of Daniiel. i m no expert but after the blackcode s there came nothing new. preferable in the lower cost segment.

Did they accidentally send you a RS 315? +10g sounds pretty dramatic.
I‘ll tailweight mine when it arrives, so I guess the one you got would play great. But makes sense to send it back, if you want that headheavy balance, it‘s supposed to have.
It says 305 and string pattern is 18x19. Yeah I'm thinking of adding a leather grip to make it more whippy.

My XTC 305's are spin machines with a leather grip and gut-poly. I enjoy the hit more with them that little bit more headlight.

mine was pretty spot on. 2 grams off. I would appreciate 315 gram version if the balance is around 315-310 mm ;p I would say tailweighing RS is a great idea ! It makes the racquet play amazingly good.

I've been looking for a reason to switch back to Tec racquets, and this would be a good one. But nothing feels as good as the Tfight 320's I used to use back in '06 and through college.@Tecnifibre Official

Feels like Covid has lengthened the length of the cycle for all companies.

More power from that pattern is possible. Previously, in the same direction and to increase launch angle I thought that 16x19 was a goood idea...but never happened.
They never said that they tried those patterns and failed...
I do not own one but I would have tried to string a 16x19 or 18x19, is probably good reference. I have done that before and you can really feel the difference.

The BIG step for Tecnifibre needs to be to approach the Quality Control of Yonex manufacturing.
I got (5) RS300 frames and had to discard 2 for disparity in SW (1) and stiffness (1), i.e. 40% rejection. I would not have the same problem with Yonexes.
Without doubt the Japanese company is way ahead of everybody and is why is gaining so much support from players at all levels.
Then, if Tecnifibre get that level of QC will be competing for the top because the frame designs are very good.
Without that ... I do not see 'just marketing' making any dent in sales. The competition triples $$$ in marketing.

Of the many recent racquets I've tried, the TF40 315 stood out. It was almost perfect. My only gripes were the grip shape (personal issue), and maneuverability. I used to own many Tfight 320's (purchased probably 10 of same model), and while being just as heavy it was far more maneuverable and easier to play with.
So many racquets of the past were just as heavy static weight, or heavier, and were more maneuverable. Maybe I just don't jive with the trending balance of modern frames. It's frustrating, as everything else about the 315 felt fantastic.
