Did you stop liking the ever-smiling Ronaldinho after his transfer, Alexander? ;)
I am still waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me Barcelona are safely into the final. Holy crap...
Well I had a lot of drinks to ease the pain. Wouldn't recommend to most though. :p
Favors the underdog too much. Also doesn’t make much sense that away goals rule still in play if the 2nd leg goes to added time if my interpretation of the rule is correct. Gives unfair edge to away team in 2nd leg if that’s the case. United got lucky it’s the rule as well. To me football is football you should be able to score anywhere if you’re the best. The whole away goals counts virtually double thing is dumb.
I would say it is a nice reward for doing a better job in hostile surroundings. Everyone prefers playing at their own ground, even the best. Going out there and doing superbly anywhere is not quite manageable. I remember occasionally that just playing in a different school on a non-serious level was a tough challenge, I don't want to imagine having to put up with an Anfield-like atmosphere or something similar...

You should have seen how much rarer away wins were in the past. Three points (or two a while back when a win used to be two points) on basically any trip used to be huge. There weren't any guarantees. At least that was before the current European giants created a bigger gap between themselves and the rest of their domestic opponents...
Nvm extra time it’s nullified I believe. I still am not a fan. Never have been
When it comes to the Champions League, away goals rule still applies in extra time too.

All the suspense last summer with that "La Decisión" to announce he is staying at Wanda Metropolitano, and he leaves less than 12 months later. This guy... :X3:

If he does arrive here, I hope his ego will be able to handle the fact that he won't be the main man. There is only one king in Barcelona, and that will be the case until his abdication. Nobody will knock him off.

Griezmann could have become Atletico's biggest legend , But trophies are such an attracting. Also his close pals Godin , Hernandez were leaving.

Atletico has 200m from two transfers now , Let's see what they would do

Atletico should buy Dybala and Cavani for attack , defender and probably LB and they're good to go. But they can't lose Rodri
Time for Cavani to move on?

I remember you saying not so long ago that he is better than Suarez (in that moment, which was probably fair). Now it's either the case of both of them aging poorly or me not keeping good track of time. :p

I might if that results in a Champions League trophy and closing La Liga gap with Real a bit more. Until then, I am not a fan of the potential transfer.

Sadly yes , I love him , He just represents Paris so good , He's not as important as Zlatan was , But he has a bigger connection with us. But we need creative talented players , Players with more technical ability , Preferrably a young one. Mbappé to move to 9 and we're in talks with new highly rated Ligue 1 talent Nicolas Pepe and Neres from Ajax for RW

At one point it does seemed like he surpassed him , Cavani became a beast under Emery's system , But that didn't last. Yeah both have regressed now , It's hare to look at this Suarez from today and the one from 15/16

Griezmann will definitely improve you guys , He's amazing

RVP was the last real superstar we had that was actually worth the hype, signing, and price of admission. Bunch of massive memes and let downs since.

Pogba is the closest thing we've got to a superstar now but his inconsistency and constant half in half out approach is cumbersome.

Lukaku is probably next closest. But his first touch and slow movement is grating at times.

So many failed "big" signings over the years like Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Henrikh Mkhitaryan which turned into Alexis Sanchez who has done nothing. Fred. Depay. Zaha.

I'm probably missing a bunch of failed signings.

I like the away goals rule. It encourages the underdog to be more adventurous away from home. Without it, weaker teams would just park the bus as they wouldn’t have anything to gain.

Totally agree about it being silly if the game goes to extra time though. One team having that advantage for 120 minutes whilst their opponent only gets it for 90 minutes? That’s not right.

I wouldn't go for Griezmann simply because of how last summer saga with him ended. But I can understand the board is getting frustrated and desperate. Who wouldn't be after two consecutive European chokes. No doubt that he would be a quality addition to the squad.

Matthijs De Ligt transfer is becoming more likely. Should both him and Antoine join, on top of Frenkie transfer already completed, expensive departures are expected too. And sadly, Coutinho could be among the first options for that.

Not thinking much about that now though. Copa del Rey final is the main focus. 9th domestic double for the team and an amazing 4th in the last five years are on the line. I hope the boys will be up for that final, especially since they managed to not book the flight to Madrid for the big one. :cautious:

I keep seeing Coutinho to Chelsea. I’m guessing people think it’s the replacement for Hazard.

Totally pointless though, with the ban and all that. Unless there’s some loophole where Barcelona send him on loan with a fee agreed for next summer. Can’t imagine FIFA would be too pleased with that though, plus it wouldn’t really help Barcelona who need to sell in order to buy.

You can reported to CAS and see if you can get some time to make signings during this transfer window

Fingers crossed then!

I’ve never been a fan of transfer bans, personally. They have far reaching consequences for other clubs, players, the fans, tournaments etc..

Players that would be sold now can’t be so they’re in limbo, someone like Coutinho might not move to the club he wants, we’re in the Champions League but a weak squad minus Hazard means we’re just cannon fodder, youngsters will have to stay to fill squad roles so won’t get the experience they could out on loan etc..

It’s always felt like a punishment where FIFA are throwing the baby out with the bath water. Way over the top. Something like a points deduction or a ban from the domestic cup always sounded like a suitable punishment, but there you go.

All about Leeds and Derby tonight. Gotta go with Leeds because of my Dad. He's one of those promotion accumulator bets on or something. But my heart is with Frank.

United vs Leeds in the premier league. Maybe a rivalry we can win next season. Yeah, let's not get ahead of myself.

Ah, Leeds... My most recent memory was from back when O'Leary managed them.

I hope Bielsa gets them back to the Premier League. Frank can keep gaining some Championship experience. :p

Rumours are Sarri will be sacked, whatever happens in the Europa League final.

Lampard is one of the favourites to replace him. The other two are Simeone (unlikely) and Nuno from Wolves.

What an unlikely trio! Not sure I buy it, the journalists are at that time of the season where they’re struggling to fill the sports pages.

Bielsa, a man that plays his number 9 as a number 9 and doesn't send him out wide. I can appreciate that.

Yeah, Luke Shaw is proud winner of Man Utd players player of the year. :p I guess there is a lot of feelings of what he has come through etc. Not that he has looked bad, some games he looked great and the rest of the team pulled him down to their level at other times.

Daniel James would fit in with that they are talking about and he is a winger. Wow, what is a winger? lol One of those young cheapish players that turns out to be very valuable. Not really the Man Utd way. boooo. I like the idea of a winger. We're still triyng to work out what Rashford is, what is Martial? I couldn't tell you.

I don’t think anyone can begrudge him that. He’s certainly had his fair share of bad luck. He looks chubby as hell these days too, always got time for a chunky player. Gives hope to the rest of us :p

Bit concerning that the left back is the player of the year though? I think De Gea was the winner for the previous 4-5 years too lol.

You guys are really not lenient towards your managers at all.

Good thing your ban doesn't apply to them. Want to switch? Who knows, maybe both clubs would like that little exchange. :p

Derby take the lead. Tactical switch and some horrible Leeds defending has changed everything. Not out of it, can still see them score again.

My parents liked them back in the day, before I started watching football, and I gave my mom stick again. I got my Man United support from her, but she also likes Liverpool quite a lot. Now I found out about the Leeds thing too. I am like what are you thinking... :-D

I think he’s done exceptionally well, personally. 3rd in the league, two finals, maybe the Europa League title.

The football hasn't been great, but it's his first season in a new league so he deserves a chance. I also don't think Chelsea are that talented, everyone says they are.. but when you take out that bizarre title win a few years ago, they've been 10th, 5th and could easily of been 5th or 6th this season if the sides around them didn't go for 2 wins in 18 games between them to close the season.

I'm happy to stick with him. He does need to play more kids though. RLC every game and Hudson-Odoi (if he's ever the same again after a ruptured Achilles), Mount, Abraham, Reece James etc.. I think that's where the Lampard link comes from, he'll be the one to give them a chance.

The trusty old diamond formation. Tactical evolution but you can't beat the classics. Both teams coming to win. A most enjoyable experience.
