I'm kind of curious myself. I love the looks, but I didn't get the CB 3.3's because of the bootie tongue, and the fit was narrow in some places, but wide for me at the forefoot. Then of course, there seems to be a lot of critics who talk about it being overly stiff.

Is this shoe just overly hyped? Is there anyone out there who really loves the CB 3.3? What is there to like about it that makes it better than other top-of-the-line shoes?

NO Contest here. Yonex SHT 307 shoes is the GOAT of the year. when 308 comes out in January, it will be even better....Yonex said.

Power cushion, breakthru tech--make you 20% faster and stable

oohh we have a late entry, I like the look of them, good call

It is Not the look. It is the cushioning. Powercushion enables you to jump 2-3 feet higher off the ground than you would with any other tennis shoe. This has been proven thru extensive research in the Lab. and also you will be able to respond quicker because shoe will Spring you into action with potential energy from the Cushion.

Durability isn't that great but nobody here cares about durability here. We all change and buy new shoes every 2 month in this forum..

I have recently been pleasantly suprised by the KSwiss Tubes 100.
I didn't want to like them, because they look like a little kid "light up" shoe...but I tried them on anyway.
They don't look bad on, and they were quite comfortable.
After a few matches, they even feel better. I'm very happy with these, and will probably be getting them again.

I think they are really solid shoes.. great traction, very stable/solid, and very good durability. Once you break them in, and by break them in I mean 20+ hours they feel like they are part of your feet, IMO. But I will say that I will not be going back with them because the first 20 hours of wear were pretty uncomfortable.

That would mean I could easily slam dunk a basketball, jump higher than Michael Jordan.

Care to show us the link to the research findings?

Barricade 5

There is only one top "5", the Barricade 5
The best shoe then, the best shoe now, the best shoe ever!
Adidas should bring it back in new colors and call it the Barricade 7

I defnitely would not put the CB 3.3 in there, nor would I put the barricade 6. Reason? I have flat wider (not really wide as I still wear a normal D width) feet. The Barricades felt horrible in the store and I hated them the second they were on my feet. The CB 3.3's were tight in the forefoot but close enough knowing that they took time to break in that I bought a pair. Big mistake! I wore them for 2 weeks and while they did break in and losen up a little, they are still very narrow and my feet were exhausted and really sore after each time on the court.

The reason people love them is that if your foot fits okay then they are very durable and well cushioned shoes. That's a big 'if' though IMO. :)

For me, the Propulse 3 and Prince T22 are so much more comfortable. The Asics are very good as well from what I felt in the store, but I don't own a pair so I have no comment for on court perf.

I nominate Babolat Propulse 3s as top shoe of 2011. They offer great traction and arch support, wide toe box, and low to the ground feel. You can run really fast in these shoes. Only minor complaint to improve upon next year would be increase forefoot cushioning.

Asic Gel Res 3 jammed my ankle so I could not se these shoes. CB 3.3s are too narrow in the toe box but otherwise great cushioning and support.

*the break in for my first pair was bad but only lasted a couple days... i dont know what it is but i have bought 3 other pairs since and all pairs have taken no break in. Cosmetics... comfort... hardcore feel... everything about these shoes I love... i will wear them for the rest of my existance

CB 3.3s are great shoes if you don't have wide feet. I had a pair and they offer great lateral stability and cushioning. But if you have wide feet, go with Propulse 3s which you don't have to break in the shoe.

Agreed. I'm really happy with the ProPulse 3's.

I didn't buy 5 pairs of tennis shoes in 2011. But I am wearing

Gel Res 3
B5
CB 1.3

B5 is good but I am very happy with the Gel Res 3, if you don't count it the durability factor. The upper of my Gel Res 3 is starting to break (the plastic web). The shoes were purchased in July. Other than that shoe is perfect with an insert.

GR3s are great if the rear doesn't hit against your ankle bone which is what I had issues with. They would be awesome for cushioning but I guess I am still looking for the GOAT shoe which the Propulse comes close minus the forefoot cushioning.

1. K-Swiss Big Shot - best comfort in a performance tennis shoe. Great traction on the clay and all courts.

2. Nike Vapor 8 - extremely comfortable and lightweight, and great feel and comfort for this type of wheel.

3. Prince T22 - awesome fit and play really well on all surfaces.

Add the Babolate ProPulse 3 and then I'd agree with your list. The only thing I'd argue with is that the Big Shot doesn't really have great traction on all courts. They tend to slip a bit on hard court.

Try adding an insert that will lift your ankle a bit.

With all due respect, the Nike Vapor 8 is junk. The Lunarmush heel has no cushion and if you want to have ankle, knee, and back pain, this show will do the trick (unless you weigh under 150 lbs). Even Fed doesn't wear them.

I got a pair of 3.3s the first two times I used them they were killing me but once they got broken in they became the most comfortable tennis shoes I have ever worn. I love them.

Same feeling but I will wear them until my two pairs get ruined.
