The late 90s were quite a time in US film:
In 1997, there was Titanic, Good Will Hunting, LA Confidential, As Good as It Gets, MIB, etc.
In 1998, there was Saving Private Ryan, Shakespeare in Love, Truman Show, The Big Lebowski, Armageddon, There's Something About Mary, etc.
In 1999, there was Fight Club, Toy Story 2, Green Mile, American Beauty, Sixth Sense, Being John Malkovich, The Hurricane, etc.

Haha yeah I know we're still really young in the big picture and if I had said this to my parents (or anyone around their age) they would laugh and cringe at me simultaneously. Also, we're still considered "young adults" by the majority of definitions since we've still spent significantly more time as a "kid" (0-18) than as an adult (18+).

I still think that people in our age group nowadays have experienced a lot of significant change however, despite not being on Earth for that long. Like relatively speaking, I feel like 20-30 year old's back in like the 80s didn't experience as much change at that point in their lives as we have now. I could be totally wrong though especially since I wasn't alive then

- Michael Schumacher was in the midst of his five-peat WC between 2000-2004 (Lewis Hamilton was just 17 then and now he's equaled the legendary German in WCs and surpassed him in wins!)
- Tiger Woods was also at his zenith winning his 8th major at just 26 years old (basically every pro you see right now was still a kid then)
- Ronaldo & Messi had yet to turn pro (in fact, futbol was dominated by another Ronaldo best known as R9)
- Baseball was in the midst of the steroid era (Mike Trout was 11 years old lol)
- Canada won gold in Salt Lake on American soil over the US in an epic gold medal game (one of my fav childhood memories)

In Film:
- Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter had just become film series
- Pixar was killing it with Toy Story 1, Toy Story 2 & now Monsters Inc. (Finding Nemo & The Incredibles came out in the two years after)
- Why not make Spiderman a film series too ($$$$$$$)

In Music:
- The music charts were dominated by artists such as Eminem, Avril Lavigne, Usher, Nelly, Ashanti & J-Lo (wow this gives me a ton of nostalgia lol)

I'd recommend one for gaming. Nadal e.g. has starred in a video game throughout a 14-year span! First: Virtua Tennis 3 (2006) Most recent: AO Tennis 2 (2020)!

Agree in general, but I'm not so sure about the bolded part. I think there was a lot of technological change from say 1950 to 1980, but like you, in order to check from a solid source, and not just the internet I'd have to ask one of my grandparents or some older member here. Obviously our parents born in the 60's and 70's have seen huge changes though. Bigger than any we're likely to see IMO. The internet boom being the biggest one, along with the advent of the smartphone.

And having said that I actually wonder what types of changes we're likely to see (or have already seen) in the next 20-30 years. Some really new things have taken off even in the last 5 years or so like live streaming, but I'm not convinced our generation will see anything truly groundbreaking like our parents did. I wonder often about how much farther technology can actually go, or what the world will look like in 100 years or 1000 when we're all passed on. Not meaning to be morbid, but I do think about that often.
