Well today answered the question: Would Rafa had beaten Djoker at AO22

Rafa crushes Med... Again. Same guy that crushed djoker on HC.

Djoker loses to some dude ranked #130.

Pretty simple. Djoker gets destroyed by this rafa at AO22.

No chance he beats novak. Baldilocks just keeps exposing madlads ROS from 50 miles away and his cluelessness with all those dropshots

We never know. But Djokovic has done enough in Australia to prove that he is the favorite against anybody on RLA.

Same with Rafa at RG. Djokovic beat him last year but Rafa will still be the favorite the next time they play there
People thinking a loss at Dubai means anything at AO are not being very honest.

I would still have Djokovic as the fav if they played each other at AO, but I think it would've been close. Rafa has been playing at a very high level this year. His play compared to Washington last August is night and day.

There is no transitive property in sports and especially not tennis.

If player B beat player A at a tournament in September and player C beat player B twice months later, it isnt a guarantee that player C beats player A.
Well I guess that means you should probably play to have a chance eh?

Nadal needs to prove himself vs Djokovic. These last years beating not just on HC but grass and clay has forced Nadal to now prove his worth against Djokovic.

Djoko had his usual preparations for AO but that got ruined so now he is paying the price of having to build form a bit later in the season, like Dubai. So if everything had been normal obviously I think no one would pick Nadal to beat Djoko.

it cannot be worked out like that
ao speed is different for instance
another example no one will suggest djoker would lose this early at dubai
dont think rafas supporters would like those crying babies taking everything for granted and sure

Say it bro. He crushes djoker. Say it.
you have a point here. Rafa backed up his win over strong Med at AO. I thought AO win was a fluke, but it seems Rafa has Med's number. And now I'm starting to think, that had he played Djoker at AO....that Rafa had a good chance to win 1 set off of Djoker.

Hypothetical SF at AO between the two. Bookies would have Djokovic as overwhelming favourite. Most polls online would probably have a minimum of 70/30 split in favour of Djokovic. Djokovic has proven he can do it vs Nadal on clay in recent years. Nadal hasn't proven he can even take a set off Djokovic on HC.

There are 3 main reasons why Djokovic beats Nadal on HC.

1. The return, he returns early and dictates so often in return games.
2. His DTL shots, he can change direction at will and at pace. Something Medvedev can't do but Zverev for example can.
3. Djokovic has great rally tolerance. He can go long against Nadal and come out on top very often.

Nadal fans like Djokovic and Federer fans must realise that matchups and surface plays a huge role. That is why we all would still have Nadal as big favourite at RG but Djokovic big favourite vs Nadal at the other 3 slams.
