Lots of New Order and Joy Division as I just read Peter Hook will be playing at the club down the street from me in May!

Ever since hearing Tune Yards perform "Water Fountain" on Conan last week, I've been addicted to this song. Merrill Garbus has always been carving her own niche and reinventing a number of musical genres. As is the case with most creative and experimental artists, the results can often be self-indulgent, but I'm slowly finding Tune Yards to be more accessible. Now, when I listen to other modern music that I like, it all sounds uninspired/elementary/creatively weak by comparison. Damn you Tune Yards for ruining music!

Excellent! From the Foreigner 4 album. Remember listening to it over and over again, think it was in 1981.

I hadn't heard this 1975 live version of Led Zeppelin's Trampled Underfoot until recent months. Their Earls Court concerts were superb. They improvise so well together in this 9 minute plus jam. John Paul Jones is peaking, Bonham is his usual thundering self, Page goes off, and Plant is almost in awe of his fellow band mates as he hits all the right notes.
