Why's Nadal playing all these grass tournaments?

He's playing Stuttgart, Queen's Club and Wimbledon because he wants as much grass-court tennis as he can get. His results on grass from 2012 onwards have been average to poor.

Simple, he wants to do well again on grass.

Also he has said for a long time now that his knees are fine.

I've read those SlamKing poasts about the healed kneels, was it the stem cell or PRP that regenerated them?

Anyway - no need to sweat the small stuff, I can't wait for the 140MPH SWO serve this year.

Vamos!

The extra week between RG and Wimbledon has given him more time to fit in more grass practice hence the decision to play Stuttgart as well as Queens.

He hasn't made it to the 2nd week of Wimbledon since 2011, and is determined to stop that happening again by getting as much grasscourt practice as he can.

I get it now - playing more low bouncing knees will strengthen the balls!

he needs points for the ranking, he said that the WTF was his goal this year. Also Tio Tony said that Rafa´s knees are ok so he will try his best on grass no?

Lol, which of those years did it make it all the way to "average?"

I'd hate to see this happen to him again:

Is it worth it?

lol I'm not at all surprised that no one of TTW heard Nadal say in his interview that he'd like grass season to have at least one more week.

TTW fans logic: As he gets older, his knees along with his grass game, will get better the more he plays.

He can of course play better than he's done last 3 seasons. I'm glad to see that he's still motivated to play good on grass which has become his worst surface last few years. Even if he loses in the first of week of Wimbledon again, it's good to know he's trying his best. I don't ask for more.

Nadal did reach the second week last year Mainad so it hasn't been that long for him.

What he wants and what he gets are two completely different things.

Tell that to Djokovic and his talking about wanting the FO more than anything for the past five years.

We are going to find out soon enough about Nadal. I am sticking to my prediction that he will make another surge at some point.

Well I'd say that's more the media than anything else but whatevs. Still more chances to get that FO anyway. Nadal on the other hand..........

No it isn't just the media. Djokovic has been very vocal about his desire to win the FO.

As for him winning it in the future, I am going to say he probably won't.

I'd say his chances of winning FO are greater than Nadal's are of winning Wimbledon. Anyway Novak's already an all time great with or without RG so it won't be the end of the world either way.

Maybe but I think when a player has never won an event and has tried using so much of his energy for so many years to win it and still comes up short, it becomes even harder to win it because the mental demons start to take over.

2MM appearance fee. He has to cash in as much as possible. I think any player would take that if they had two bum knees

Stem cell therapy did wonders for his knees. You as bitter as hell about it, I know :)

A 4th round whipping at the hands of yet ANOTHER player with 3 digits in his ranking is an average result???? Yeah, anything you say, talk about setting the bar low, lol.

He got to the second week, I'd say that surely qualifies as "average"...

Do you understand how the seeding system works? If you're seeded 2nd, and you lose in the 4th round, your result was NOT average(let alone the ranking of his opponent).

Yes way when its the media that brings up the topic in the first place.

Nope, Novak has admitted that losing the FO has put him in a depression in the past. There is no way that tournament is not his biggest goal at this point and to suggest otherwise is selling his competitive desire short. Novak wants the one big tournament he's never won. How many times does he need to cry after losing it before you believe it's him and not the media?
