got my two in today. Measurements with plastic on the handle

#1
Weight: 312.2 grams
Bal. 31.8-31.9 (used 31.9 for Swingtool)
SW: 308-309 (Seems a tad high....)

#2
Weight:311.3 grams
Bal: 32.5-32.6 (used 32.6 for Swingtool)
SW: 317-318 (<- are you ****ing serious?)

Did I lose the QC lottery on both of these? I know I lost on one for sure unless my measurements are completely off and WILDLY off. Tested my DIY SW jig setup on other retail frames I had and SW points were around 2-3 pts listed on the tw racquet finder or listed retail specs, so I thought I setup my jig properly... Gonna go to a local shop that has a PTC tomorrow to compare my SW measurements to vs my homemade measuring jig on all the racquets I measured to see how different they are vs mine. Just to get as much data as possible... One part of me hopes I'm wrong just cause these SW numbers I don't likey. Other part of me hopes I'm right or pretty close (2-3 pts) cause if not, my measuring jig is a piece of trash...

The plastic on the handles shouldn't be affecting SW measurements that much since its so little weight on the handle...

they call it the blade PRO and PRO stocks for a reason... sorry, i just had to. that's seriously atrocious, but that's the SW it should be strung imo.

Your measurements could indeed be correct. @gutfeeling had one very close to weight and balance of your 2nd rqcquet and indeed it was 320sw...

I hit with both BPs tonight in stock form - so no lead added or leather grip to add weight. keep in mind I am a high 3.5 player. Most on here would call themselves a 4.0 but I don’t think my volley skills are there for that.

I hit with my 3.5 partner so it gave me an easier time to adjust to the racquets. Between the 2 of them the 18x20 is the one for me. It works better for my strokes. I had better control with it and kept more balls in. Both have a lot more power than my UT. But the 16x19 has even more power. Probably due to the open string patttern.

He said my serves were better than with my UT and all my shots were Noticeably deeper and heavier. They were coming back at him quicker than he was used to.

Ill probably pick up a 2nd 18x20 And list the 16x19 in the sales forum. Luckily I’m an L4 so those are still in stock.

Thanks for the review. I have a feeling 18x20 is going to be where its at with these..

I am not sure if we can list these on sales forum.. does anyone know?

don't think the 18x20 ran out in L2 or L3 either.

I have H22 18x20s at 325 and 330 SW respectively, so if you're lucky with the QC lottery unlike I was, it is possible to get 18x20 versions with a reasonable swingweight. I'll be verifying those numbers on a PTC tomorrow to see if my numbers were inaccurate...

I don’t have a way of checking SW but at my level I’m not sure how sensitive I’d be to it unless it was significantly different.

i actually think the H22 is an easier frame to play with than the UT. The UT is much more demanding IMO As there is no free power there. The H22 even in stock form felt more stable than my UTs that have lead added to them. The timing on my strokes between the 2 racquets is different. The UT swings faster and feels lighter as it’s much more HL even though in reality it weighs 14 grams more than the H22. There were lots of shots I was able to stab at or block and get back with the H22 that I wouldn’t have been able to do with the UT.

Everyone who is sending these back to Wilson because of spec issues- please make sure to tell them on the return form it’s because of their abysmal QC. Maybe they’ll eventually listen. I for one would totally pay extra to have a manufacturer sell matched sets from the factory.

I had a blast hitting with my BP 16x19 today. The first thing I noticed was the much higher level of power than my 2013 blade. This truly is a completely different racket the power is there this H22 Shares very little with the retail blades of old and new. My biggest issue with my 2013 is the lack of power with full poly not so with the H22. I was hitting many shots long on my ground strokes which was actually very refreshing I honestly thought that it was going to hit very similarly to my 2013 which is a disaster for power. When trying to rip a forehand I had to implement the tweener topspin brush So that was very satisfying because that is the way I play my game. Albeit the launch angle is lower than a PA but that goes without saying. Maybe just a hair less than a apd. Not much. But I really had a fun hitting session today with this stick. And I think the string I use was a wise decision so hyper G 17. I strung at 48. I would go 50 next tine. But no regrets there either. It made the sweet spot feel very large and I can say that because I hit many shots towards the top of the frame and got plenty of power in depth even there partly because of the strange way the racket is drilled with some pretty open space in towards the upper hoop. And also my decision to buy it in an L4 was a lucky and smart decision because I have taken the stock rip off and replaced it with a 1.3 mm Tennis Warehouse leather grip and let me tell you it feels like an L3 After I have done that. So now it weighs in at 11.9 ounces And slightly over five points headlight. I look forward to my next outing with it I really had a lot of fun with this racket today. Also I was not tested today I played one of my friends who doesn’t give me very much trouble but it wasn’t about that today it was just about getting comfortable with my strokes and learning to have some fun with this thing which I did in spades. As always will have to see in the very heated match play How I feel but for any Wilson fan who enjoys a player frame have no fear buying this frame I think the power or should I say the ease of power will shock you when compared to an ordinary blade. Big shout out to Wilson for bringing what in my opinion is the coolest set of frames the public has ever been able to buy and I encourage all of the other manufacturers to take note and do the same thing

Great review! That stiffer hoop definitely plays a part in the large sweet spot I think. I think I get some of my best shots hitting on the upper side of the sweet spot.

I would love to hear your further impressions as you get more hours in and some comparisons to your game/shots with the BP over the Aero series. I'm actually going to try to put some hours in with a 2019 PA and og APD exclusively over my next few outings to see how I feel my game is; whether the game just feels easier or if I can do more damage/push my opponent around more/get some easier points.

Definitely. We’ll keep updating. Either way What a cool frame. What a privilege it is to be able to buy a real pro stock.

Did any1 compare the Blade Pro vs H22 side by side ?
Any pictures ???
What are you hoping to see in particular? They're the same racquet

Here's my colorful family of racquets x-posted from my h22 thread...
They definitely redid their grommet design for the retail release. Slightly longer grommet tube length in some areas and wider tie off holes compared to the non-retail grommets and flush string channel endings. Retail grommets are definitely more stringer friendly...

Postman arrived today! My H22 16x19’s came in unstrung at 308 and 309g. Balance 326mm on both.
Strung one up with 1.25 poly tour strike and added overgrip and Wilson heart dampener.
Weight is now 332g, balance is 332mm and using swing tool app, swing weight is 344.
Air swings, it feels great. Much easier to swing than my Ezone tour which is 335 swingweight and 345g with leather grip. Seams odd the blade pro swings easier, is it because of polarity being maybe less and lower twistweight?
Looking forward to hitting tomorrow, :)

Not to spoil your parade, you might want that SW checked out if you have the Swingtool app. The one I have with that similar spec to yours is an estimated 308 SW with swingtool app. When comparing that to what others have measured, seems to be around the higher side of SW despite the lighter weight and extreme HL Balance, as long if you ignore the hideous outliers like the 320 listed below. and the supposed 318 I have...

I would imagine head heavier versions would have higher swing weight. So you have scored! I’ve never hit 345 sw, so I’m hoping I’m not late to the bus stop on contact when I hit the courts with mine.

How did you feel the Blade pro compared to H22 ?
RA
Swing weight ?
Did those racquet feel the same ?
From all the reviews and impressions by people in this thread echo my impressions and experience that I have had with my H22s. From the eye test (picture above) and the feel test (all the impressions here so far), it's an H22. I'm not doing a taste test.

I do not have access to an RDC, and you can see my other specs of my H22s that I can measure somewhere here or in the H22 thread. The only real thing that is going to affect people's impressions and feelings at this point is the usual terrible QC from the Wilson factories.

As an aside....
At least until the end of the year, since they're not selling spare grommets yet, if people have a keen enough eye by looking at the grommets and asking for pictures of under the butt cap, people wont' be able to black out these Blade pros and sell them as non-retail H22s...

"The Pro One 16x19 is for advanced players who are looking for the original classic Head Prestige PT57A which were made in Austria but dont want to pay $700".

I'm not sure about earlier versions of Pro One 97 but they have had this description since dual cores days. I never felt they played the same either.

I'm not a fan of current Donnay at all, by the way. Have owned Dual, Penta and Hexa core versions. mentioned that in several threads over time. Horrendous customer service, shady marketing practices and just not a fan of the guy running it at the moment too. You can tell it isn't the Donnay of yore. Last I heard some investment firm out of Long Island purchased the rights.

Had a quick hit against the wall at home, desperate I know.... racquet felt great, both with and without dampener! No harshness, no bad vibes, enough feedback to know where you are striking the ball but also great comfort. This thing is solid.
Playing tomorrow, but I think this is pretty special so far. Love the feel of glossy paint too! Matt paint is slippery for the me.
Dropped by the club this afternoon to book a lesson in the morning and my coach had a couple of air swings of the H22 and she said it swings nice, don’t mod it yet!
I trust her as she used to play doubles against Ash Barty and win, so she can play! :)

They can say whatever they want it has nothing to do with pt57a. Racquet has the old ti radical mold (or close to it with the v throat).
Basicaly the same as h22 is trying to copy.
I am referring to 16x19 version... their 18x20 version is a bacially old technifibre mold pt965 which if you squint kind of reminds of pt57 mold but of course it's not.

I agree with horrendous customer service. Took months to get some of my money back from them...

Twistweight is likely to be the best explanation. I feel like tw is often disregarded but it is a key component of a racquet feel. Others have reported that the BP felt polarized. It makes sense.

Hi, could you upload a picture of your BP 16x19, I am a newbie in stringing and wondering how your stringer did the string job.. As some says stringing instruction on Wilson's is incorrect...

My one is freaking delayed by UPS by incorrectly sorting it....

I've been dropping reviews on Wilson rackets on their official site and encourage everyone to do the same. Highlight the QC and paint issues in the review, it's very simple... If people return the outliers and post reviews on the website for others to see, maybe they'll do something about QC one day.

As much as we see complaints here, I'm sure they don't hear it that much and it isn't visible / doesn't affect them so they have no desire to fix it. Reselling the outliers and buying another just makes the problem worse.

Only 9 Reviews on the v7 blade 18x20 that everyone and their sister has owned, and only 1 comment on QC.... Can't completely blame Wilson if we aren't doing our part...

The H22 16/19 seems to be a bit tighter than the Blade 98 16/19, or am i just imagining things here?
