I play mine with just kimony leather no lead weight. I find it very playable and to my liking.
So this brings up something interesting that I am checking into as well. I notice that with the 330 version I hit more consistently and deeper without going long. But it’s less spin and racquet head speed. The extra racquet head speed from the lighter frames makes them feel like they are more powerful than they are, because I am swinging faster. It also can result sometimes in more errors.
Anyway, the main thing I want to figure out is if I can get the best of both worlds by getting the heavy spin of the lighter frame with the consistency of the heavier one.
It’s kind of complex because the racquet is such a small part of how we are playing. Are you having an off day..tired legs..not keeping your head still..etc. Those are all factors that are more important than the frame.
Also does the lower stock SW of the frame actually make racquet head control more difficult for those of us with higher tip speeds, or is it better since it forces you to keep your tip speed up the entire match ?
Just some stuff I am working out while I mess with the different frame weights. It’s a personal and subjective thing, but since I quoted your post, my question is this - what is your playstyle and grip? Mine is heavy topspin baseliner with extreme SW grip and 2 handed backhand. I do follow my shots to net, but I am not a great volleyer, so I choose my approaches carefully.
