Full statement from Louis himself:
It has been an honour to manage such a magnificent club as Manchester United FC, and in doing so, I have fulfilled a long-held ambition.
I am immensely proud to have helped United win the FA Cup for the 12th time in the club's history. I have been privileged during my management career to have won 20 trophies but winning the FA Cup, which is steeped in so much history, will always be one of the most special achievements of my career.
I am very disappointed to be unable to complete our intended three-year plan. I believe that the foundations are firmly in place to enable the club to move forward and achieve even greater success.
I hope that winning the FA Cup will give the club a platform to build upon next season to restore the success that this passionate set of fans desire.
Having managed in Holland, Spain and Germany, I had always hoped for the opportunity to manage in English football and be part of English culture. Both of these experiences have lived up to expectations and been fantastic.
I thank my players and wish them well for next season. It has been a pleasure to work with them and it has been particularly rewarding to see so many young players take their chance to break into the first team and excel. I look forward to watching the continued development of these young players next season.
Thank you to the owners and board of Manchester United for giving me the opportunity to manage this great club.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the amazing United supporters. They are truly the best fans in the world.
I am indebted to my support and coaching staff, who have given me their all during their time at the club.

don't tell me you're one of those that call klopp a "loser", just because he lost a few finals? Not to mention his team was the underdog going into the final most of the times, and were all close matches, he was just a bit unlucky, it happens.
As for the atmosphere at anfield being one of the worst of the country, pleaseeee
I've said it here before too, that the atmosphere in the games against the midtable teams is pretty bad, especially if it's a weekend game where you have to deal with the tourists who all they want is to take selfies and post them on facebook (although theyre not the only ones to blame for the lack of good atmosphere, I know locals who go to games and instead of standing up and sing, they sit down on their arses for 90 minutes checking their phones, storm out before ht to go to the canteen etc that's just unacceptable imo). You have the kop trying to create some noise (and some blocks of the anny Road) but generally it's below average especially if it's not am important game. But let's be honest the same can be said for nearly every ground in the land. Especially as far as the big teams are concerned. Emirates is the worst along with etihad, they're not even worth a comment. OT is generally awful, they only sing when we come over, not even during the Manchester Derby (it sounds like a theater parts of the game - oh the irony
). Stamford Bridge i think its a bit better then those mentioned at least singing wise but they ruin it all with those cringey plastic flangs, it really is embarrassing. I'll never forget Gerrards last game there, absolute ****ehole with those "banners" (they applauded him while he was going off and Gerrard in his post match comments gave them stick for doing so). Spurs is decent but they're not a big club anyway and I'm 100% sure changing grounds will affect the whole feeling. I'd say overall the best are Palace (although I don't like all that drum banging and whenever I tune in they seem to always sing they same song all over again), and Stoke probably. St James Park can be very toxic too even against their own team Upton Park deserves a mention too but we'll never see it again, sadly.Point is, is anfield good against the likes of Norwich etc on a Sunday afternoon? That's what he did with Inter. That's what did with Chelsea, both times. Madrid is entirely different because they're a bunch of stars and mourinho with his ego would never succeed there. Ancelotti was perfect for them imo,and he will be very good for bayern.

For me top4 plus a cup would be a brilliant season for next year. I don't expect miracles, and as I've said many times before we shouldn't be quick to judge, I Hate all the negativity after a few bad results.
Oh and good luck to Brendan and Celtic, he's better then them imo but it's his boyhood club so I understand wanting to go there even for 12 months. I'll never forget that season, those who don't give him credit and say "it was all Luis suarez" can **** off especially if they're from our fanbase, bunch of pricks.

Where is your evidence he isn't good with mediocre players? The last time he managed them was at Porto when he won the European Cup, the only time in the modern European cup era that has been achieved with so little resources. An outstanding management achievement. Hopefully Atletico change that and join them on Saturday night.
But it was at União de Leiria where Mourinho first made his name, the small Portuguese club he had challenging for the title. He took the Porto job mid season so we will never know if he could have pulled off a miracle and went all the way. But his work there was very, very impressive.
My concerns on Mourinho are more to do with whether or not his is past his peak, his brand of football is no longer the dominant one at the top of the game like it was 2004-10. (Same with Benitez) Both past thier best due to evolution of the game arguably. But we will see.
Other concerns I have are to do with giving him (and Mendes) a free reign on the transfer pot and feeling their dealings might not be motivated purely by what is best for the club but themselves.

And you're basing this on ONE great year he had with Porto (he was a bit lucky too but anyway), 12 years ago?? I've never heard of that other Portuguese team you mentioned and I don't watch their league (I bet you don't either) so I'm not going to pretend I watched him there, but again 6 months? Please.
Simeone is playing pretty much the same brand of football with atletico, maybe with a bit more pressing, so I wouldn't worry about his style of play being old fashioned.
I mentioned liverpool United before, well Chelsea United will be very interesting as well, I wonder how will the fans at Stamford Bridge react, imagine United scoring a last minute equaliser and Maureen celebrating in front of the fans, I can definitely see that happening and it womt go down well. And rightly so.
