Bring back Guardiola. :p

That Juventus record is so amazing. Don't watch the Serie A at all these days. Haven't watched since the James Richardson on channel 4 glory days. Still, amazing record.

I stopped watching Serie A regularly somewhere around 2011, 2012... Just read that achievement in the news. Got to give Juve credit for recovering so well from that relegation to Serie B and now being an unstoppable force of the country.

Mortal, vulnerable Barca... Now that's something we all wanted to see at one point, eh @Noleberic123 ? ;)

They better be careful not to concede.

That was one hard and frustrating tie with Bilbao. I hope others will step up in next big matches because Messi can't keep saving us forever on his own.

It was a special night for Luis Suarez, who scored his 100th goal for FC Barcelona. :)

Don't worry Barca will be back. It's Barca. I just don't think it will happen with this defence and midfield. Especially the RB position is problematic for them atm. They are really feeling the effects of Alves leaving. Alba has had a lot of injury problems which has led them to having a LB problem as well. Now on to the midfield. Andre Gomez is crap. Rakitic isn't in great form. Busquets has dropped a level or two these past couple of seasons. Iniesta is still on a great level IMO but they really need another great CM. They can't just keep relying on Messi bailing them out in every match.

Busquets has been sloppy, couldn't believe seeing him give the ball away so many times. He was the definition of confidence, control, calmness... Neymar and Rakitic have dropped as well though it's just temporary with them. Iniesta is at the end of his best days. Defense isn't helping either. What amazes me is that Barca were the ones who spent over 100 million this summer while the only work Real Madrid did was bringing Morata back. Judging by what was happening in Spain in the last 10 years or so, this was a big opportunity to get another La Liga title. But you really failed.
This is the third match in a row he has scored a free kick

Player for player, I'd give the edge to Real Madrid. Their squad is more impressive. Looks like the table reflects this now.

So long Graham Taylor.

Tough to get over certain points dropped, like Malaga and Real Madrid at home, but it's a bit greedy to demand a La Liga trophy every season. 8 of the last 12 leagues is an amazing achievement, only Real Madrid in 60s and 70s have been this dominant in the country. I think it's better to enjoy your moment than whine about something not going your way.

Yes, I know you couldn't care less about my dreams but I'm gonna tell you anyway. 1-0 down, 10 minutes to go at OT. Firmino with a Coutinho-esque run from the left, crossing to Phil who hits the post, Milner scores the rebound, a pretty similar goal to the league cup final one last season. 5 minutes later, Firmino again dribble pasts a couple of them, only for someone to trip him up inside the box. Penalty, Milner steps up......and I wake up just before he takes it! :p

Really important game obviously, not season defining for us imo - still January, long way to go but it does feel massive, a win there would be a huge confidence booster and a nice reality check for United. :) They're on a good run yeah but 8 of them 9 wins in a row are games they should be expected to win really, even Spurs at home is never a difficult game for them, they always bend over at OT. Obviously no one bothers pointing the facts out, it's always "United are back" isn't it. well let's see what happens on Sunday, are they really back? ;)

As always in these games, I'd take any kind of win - don't care about the performance, the lineup, the individuals etc just ****ing win. Hopefully the lads will do us proud, like last year, both on and off the pitch!

Sweets dreams, although I have issue with nobody points out the facts, etc. I sense it was a little tongue and cheek and you're my favorite Liverpool supporter so I shall remain calm. We haven't won these games that we should be expected to win and now we are. Improvement, no matter how small. Think of Rome wasn't built in a day or the rebuilding of Rome doesn't happen in a day.

How long have you been rebuilding? :p

Can't argue that it would be a reality check if we lost handily at home. Not sure if a defeat like your dream would really be a reality check. And of course, you woke up. David De Gea could save it, pump it up the field and somebody gets on it for the winner. Maybe that was the end of your dream. You're lucky you woke up.

Really looking forward to the game. Sure, a loss would be ****, but I don't think it would set us back too much. Still fancy a United win. Draw most likely.

Agenda on display again...

I thought one never knows with the Premier League, anyone can beat anyone, that's the beauty of this competition; but when Man United go on a winning run it is all expected. And let's not even start comparing that expected run to the huge City hype after their opening 6 wins.

Like I've said to you, I've got to admit that United have improved since that Burnley match, I mean i can't deny it even if I wanted to - the results speaks for themselves. However, there's a very long way to go until the "United of old are back" shouts are justified, wouldn't you agree? It's rebuilding at the minute as you say (and you've got the best man for that job, haven't you? ;)) and long may it continue :D, was just pointing that out because Ive come across loads of delusional United fans who think they're gonna smash us and win the title like they're suddenly Barca, obviously not posters on here - that's why I always try to avoid social media, Twitter especially is an absolute cesspit when it comes to football talk.

At least whilst rebuilding we won the European cup with Djimi Traore in the squad and got to another final. :p United have missed out on top4 2 of the last 3 seasons whilst spending more than £250 each summer. :D

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me tbh, hes always MOTM against us probably Uniteds best player overall (though maybe not this season). I'm sure you've seen it seeing as it went viral at the time but if not look up Deeneys goal against Leicester in the play off semi final a few years back. Exactly what you described, can't imagine how Leicester fans felt like when Deeney scored lol. Went on to win the premier league tho so not too shabby;)

Be honest; would you take a point if offered right now?

Not in this game, no. Have to want all 3 points on offer, although I kind of take back what I said earlier. A loss in this game would be more damaging. Considering we have closed the gap to everybody above us in the last month. Plus, I want to believe we are that good and can beat Liverpool. Nothing really to suggest that this is one of my peak delusional moments. :p

Player power these days. Payet will be on his way soon. Chelsea on the look out, according to sky sources.

Super Sunday is upon us.

Not interested personally. Someone to provide depth and competition for Hazard, Pedro and Willian would be good, but he's not that type of player.

Yeah.

Another striker is must have now that Costa smells that China money. Of course, you could hold him against his will, he becomes a Richard on the pitch and under performs. Can't tell with the egos of today and the players holding clubs hostage.

Yeah, what makes him so good is what also makes him a liability. It's always been and always will be a fine line with him.

I think China is a load of rubbish personally, you think someone who's that competitive and has a go at a player of the quality of Pedro (like he did against Spurs) is going to want to be playing in China? Lol. Maybe he'll be sold at some point, but China would be torture for him.

As for another striker, we should of got Griezmann 2 years ago when we were linked with him, as I said at the time. He had a great season after that and was brilliant at the Euro's, now everyone wants him and you have to pay the big money.

We're linked with that midfielder from Atalanta who looks like a young Toure, but we'll probably wait for the summer and he'll go to Juventus or Spain. We do a lot of things right, but we're too indecisive in the market.

I think it is a load of rubbish myself. I also believe that anybody's head can be turned by the right amount of money. 30 million a year after tax or something like that could tame his competitive spirit. Players can talk about love for the game and so on, but I don't know.

Yeah, you would have to be close to breaking the transfer record again to get Griezmann in the current market. Going to United in the summer. :p

Yeah I don't blame anyone for going, if someone offered me 10 times the money I'm on at the moment I'd be going for it!

He might do yeah, I'm sure there will be some kind of bidding war between a couple of the top clubs. As long as Man Utd finish in the top 4, which they look like doing of late, it's definitely realistic. We'll probably have Llorente by then though so who cares ;)

feeling more confident, still a nervous wreck like always before these games but i just know that we have the better team & the better manager. Also today's results could prove to be a blessing in disguise for us coz United can't afford to sit back now, no they're at home and they'll have to come at us, draw would set them back especially if City beat the bluenoses.

I think it all comes down to the formation, when teams try and match up it becomes a man to man battle. Is there any team who A) has better players at those positions and B) are as well drilled in that system? 99 times out of 100, the answer is no.

It would of been a totally different game and Chelsea would of had to answer all kinds of questions if they had of stuck to their 4411 that they're good at. We still probably would of won, but it would be a much tougher game imo.

As for tomorrow, yeah you can never really go wrong with a draw when your rivals are playing! Maybe slightly favouring a Liverpool win in the hope it dents Man Utds momentum. We can beat Liverpool in a few weeks and kill them off then anyway ;)

Yeah, the game definitely had the feeling of what the hell happened to Leicester? In some ways, it is just going back to the natural order of things. They had this one miracle season, but now back to reality.

Going over so easy at home as well. Guess losing an early goal can screw up whatever team talk is given. 2/10 performance being generous. :p Chelsea were great, no doubt.

Giving ol' Souness a run for his money in the art of biased BS.

I'm assuming we're playing our formation/system so youd need the right personnel for it, obviously De Gea is a given & Baily has impressed me but other than that the rest could honestly be 9 Liverpool players as far as I'm concerned. I went with Martial over Firmino trying to be objective and thats what I get. :p Jk. Could have Carrick instead of Gini as a DM like Souness did I guess but he'd be too slow for our system Imo. Herrera is another one but I absolutely hate him for some reason so I wouldn't want him anywhere near even a fantasy combined xi lol:p forgot to add it was obviously based on form more that overall player quality, although we've got the better team anyway. ;)

I'll restrict myself from laughing at Man City's loss because Man United tend to slip up in their game as soon as I do that. :D

What I will say is that these certain moments make me appreciate Man United and Liverpool much more. The players of these clubs are (IMO at least) usually gracious in defeat and tough times in general which can't be said for other teams.

Things are not looking good for Pep and Manchester City at the moment. It's an absolute disaster wasting all your opportunities while your opponent converts 4 out of 4. Similar thing happened when they played Chelsea. If they keep this up they will find themselves in a tough fight for the Champions League spots, and that would be quite a stain on Guardiola's resume.

Pogba better get some good sleep, he was poor today. Not because of the brain fart he had in the penalty box, it happens, but he lost the ball many times because he wanted to perform his trickery. On some other day Liverpool probably would have accepted that gift and scored from a counter. Hopefully Mourinho has something similar to Fergie's hairdryer in store for Pogba.

Technology for offside should be installed in the future. Rooney wasn't offside when his shot was saved while I think Valencia was offside in the build up to our goal.

Since my complaint how we have had a lot of decisions against us this season, we scored two (?) offside goals and opponent's player was harshly sent off. For some reason I don't want to call it justice because other teams suffer just like we did before.

Still can't get over those stupid 4 consecutive home draws. Clearly superior in all those games but ended up winning none of them.

Maybe Cristiano will be willing to come to Carrington for a few days to teach these folks how proper finishing is done. Ibra can't seem to do it all on his own.

Reality check for Man Utd, need an offside goal to get a point against a Liverpool side playing a kid at right back and missing 3 of our most important players 4 if you count Coutinho who could only play half an hour.

Good game overall though, see Mourinho trying to claim Liverpool played defensive, more defensive, the side with more shots, more on target, more touches in the opposition box, more corners. Although I doubt he really believes that(now that the pressure's off him a bit he can do his usual routine to take attention away from his team), the difference between Liverpool today and Mourinho's bus job at Anfield is night and day.

Surprised I missed this.

Klopp sure knows how to let it out. :D
