Giorgi is an inconsistent mess and both Zhuk and Stollar have barely done anything to warrant attention.
Anyway, the WTA have a wide variety of attractive players to pick as poster girls... Svitolina, Muguruza, Wozniacki, Sloane etc.

Great win for last years finalist Wozniacki over Giorgi. Caro into the 3R.
Rough loss for last years SFist Watson to Mladenovic. The loss means Heather drops out of the top 100.
Also a tough loss for Stosur who did so well to win the first set from 1-5 down but loses in 3 to AVU.
Harriet Dart gets her first tour win thanks to lefty Pliskova.
Radwanska plays her first match in 3 match and smokes Babos 6-3 6-1.
Kuznetsova gets a much needed win over Sakkari.

Both Kurnikova and Sharapova were hyped before they turned into pro players but it has to do with their respective PR agencies and the WTA. Why the same can't be done for younger players on tour?
Anyway, the point is that WTA has all the resources and all the faces (all of the above mentioned + Puig, and and and...) to promote and make women's tennis visible and appealing for example to young audience, but they do literally nothing. Their web-site is awful, they have no marketing campaigns, and I really do wonder where all the sponsors' money goes.

You actually have to win things to be the face of the game-unless you are insanely hot like Bouchard & even then she was a top level player for a season or so.

Not really, look like ATP pushes their so-called NextGen beyond Sasha Zverev and others. They promote their players to death because they want to make them visible. Visibility=interest, and interest=money. Shapovalov is Nr 26 and already a big star without any title. Can you imagine WTA doing the same for any young player who's in the top 100?

My main concern is that these top ladies are wearing themselves out ahead of Wimbledon.
Every single one of those ladies except Sabalenka and possibly Kasatkina has a great shot at going deep or for some, even winning Wimbledon.
Garbie and Svitolina had the right idea. Play Birmingham, get some grass play and that's it.
Barty in particular with awful scheduling. Played Nottingham, Birmingham and Eastbourne. Won Nottingham, 2R in Birmingham and now QF in Eastbourne. Good points but probably will cost her dearly at the slam.

I did a little more research into this. She switched from Babolat to Srixon in early 2017, which is a lesser-known Japanese company. Then, Dunlop and Srixon joined forces via merger/acquistion, not sure what happened. But now the stencil is Dunlop instead of Srixon. I don't think the Dunlop logo was on the Srixon racquets before the partnership, but feel free to prove me wrong.
So, maybe a year with Srixon and less than a year with the racquet re-branded as Dunlop Srixon.

She was like Puig. Her entire game plan was perfect for two weeks. Serve was on point and she just kept hitting winners left right and centre. Ditto to Puig.

She was warned several times.
In the final the umpire warned her saying, you were warned yesterday too...
She actual started the final pretty quietly but it ramped up.
Caro did have a quiet word to the umpire. I assume about the noise. Soon after the warning came. She was a little better after that.
The tabloid press and post match stuff are going to have a field day at Wimbledon if she doesn't kerb it!

The noises. She goes way too far, continues til the opponent hits the ball, it’s absolute ******** and I refuse to watch her play.
