I think there's an issue having such a short grass season in particular. Players are inclined to enter tournament the week before Wimbledon when typically they wouldn't at other majors, then when they feel they have had enough matches to get their rhythm they withdraw to head to London or to prevent injury which is a shame for those events. I think another week or two on grass would be ideal leading up to Wimbledon. No sooner has the grass swing started before it's Wimbledon and then over. Simona has had recent injuries so I can understand prioritising the majors and health. When you've won 2 majors you probably care about little else but adding to that tally. I was looking forward to Andreescu vs Halep. The other semi between Garcia and Cornet doesn't intrigue me at all.Is there an active list of most quits? I bet Simona is WAY up there.
In our house we call that a kink-neck. Happens a lot to old people, and SH is old.Simona’s withdrew due to waking up with a “blocked neck”. I assumed she meant she meant stiff neck, which at its worst could be as bad as not being able to turn one’s head. It sounds like a “precautionary withdrawal”, judging how close Wimbledon is from starting.

Hope Penko keeps this form thru Wimbledon.Ostapenko was GOATing against Camilla today. I wish she could play like this all the time.
She wasn't able to last year. I recall advising people to be wary of her at Wimbledon after winning Eastbourne as an in-form Penko is très dangereux but then came the drama vs Tomljanovic and the rest was history.Hope Penko keeps this form thru Wimbledon.
This is for the WTA tournaments, it's a 500 level WTA event.Hasn't anybody corrected the thread title? Eastbourne was a 250 tournament. Fritz took only that.
Sorry. Thanks for showing my sloppiness, and my insufficient attention to details. This is for the WTA tournaments, it's a 500 level WTA event.
Why Eastbourne was a 500 for women, an just a 250 for men? This is for the WTA tournaments, it's a 500 level WTA event.
She was hot and cold. A lot of weak 2nd serves that Kvitova killed right away. How did Ostapenko look today?
Sorry if this is considered a loaded question.
