Kolasinski is sooo far off the baseline you can barely see him. Not sure if you can win playing like that. And I actually root for him.

For those on this thread who like to talk about injuries, the Texas A&M #2 had to be pulled from the lineup after doubles, causing five other players to move up a spot.

Well Basavareddy is injured too and didn’t play causing Stanford to play up a spot 3-6. These things even out

Yes, but he was playing good enough in doubles. He will be back healthy by the Indoor comes around. Not sure if they should rest him this weekend in florida or play him. I think it will be up to Ninesh but if i was the coach, would preside on the side of caution

Lol that’s hyperbole but agree Basing’s a rock in the lineup. Not that he’ll win all the time but it’s difficult to get a routine W over him. His shot tolerance is unreal

Being realistic, next week against UGA and UF and then indoors, the Card will be an underdog. But it will be welcome competing against the SEC stalwarts and then go up against an elite team at indoors. They’ll only get better by experiencing this grind

should they really be underdogs against a UF team with 4-5 guys playing college singles matches that count for the first season in their life? that’s a sad statement re: the Stanford program if true

Just going on form. UF is off to a strong start and Stanford not so much. Their one good win was over A&M yesterday. They barely squeezed by GT and lost to Cal. Also doesn’t look like Basavareddy is ready to play singles. So that’s the basis for my call. Add to that playing UF at Lake Nona which is their second home

The UGA vs Stanford match this weekend should be interesting as both teams have been underperforming-if they both step up their games, it should be a good match. However since Stanford struggled against GT on their home courts, UGA should be favored in FL. Quinn Fery match should show whether Quinn is back to his excellent fall form after his January slump. The Florida FSU match on Thursday at Lake Nona should be close too. Most of the teams playing at Lake Nona over the next couple days are ranked pretty close-Fl #16, FL State 12, GA 13, Stanford 15 with USC a little higher at 7.

UGA if they play to form are at least on par (if not better) than USC rankings notwithstanding. UF is a bit behind those two. Agree the matchup against Fery will be a good test for Quinn. He has a good shot.

UF doesn’t miss a beat. Six guys graduate. No sweat. That’s why the Card will be an underdog this weekend especially w/o Basavareddy

i’m not sure who wins, but I’m damn sure if Stanford wins they’re going to have to earn it

Meanwhile Stanford Women hosts Pepperdine today. Some potentially great match ups there . Stanford seems to be moving around their top 4 order over the past 3 matches so difficult to know what those match ups will be.

Was surprised to see Ma playing in the 2 spot. That’s stacking. Would like to see her back at the top followed by Yepifanova, Blokhina, Blake, Xu and Choy

That probably will be how it ends up. I guess as per the present rankings all four are in the top 50 and in the fall Tournament matches Ma beat Blake, Blake beat Blokhina , Yepifanova beat Ma and Blake and Yepifanova split 2 matches. So I guess these positions could be justifiably be said to be up for grabs early in the season. Plus as a side issue they will all want to compete in NCAA individual singles and playing at # 3 will be difficult and playing #4 unlikely.

interesting also that 2022 successful doubles team of Blake and Ma have been split up with Blokhina and Blake now playing #1

ok, I'm either dumb or people that run playsight are. Trying to watch Stanford vs Georgia, and USC vs Florida. None of the links provided for Stanford match lead me to a stream of the courts. The links for USC vs Florida lead me to two streams - unfortunately all I can see is two empty courts. Is there not a single person associated with either playsight or college tennis that can check this stuff and make sure it works?? This is sooo bad.

Is Playsight just showing 3 lines for USC/FL and 3 lines for Stanford/GA? I can access courts 4-6 and 10-12. Where are links to 1-3 and 7-9? Does anyone know which line is assigned to which court? I am guessing 10-12 are GA Lines 4-6 as I recognized Bryde and Croyder. Why arent they showing Quinn and Fery?

so there are still two USC matches and two Stanford matches going - but all I can see is a match on one court only. If one tried intentionally to sabotage college tennis he would not be able to come up with a better way to pi** off people.....

Agreed. Stanford vs GA is tied 3-3 with 3rd set for line 2 to decide it. That court isnt livestreamed but you can hear the noise from the finished courts. Cant believe Nona has cameras and yet the 1-3 lines werent streamed.

I thought with the WTN switch, ITF/USTA were going to support college tennis more. To not even have cameras working on matches between ranked teams hosted on USTA national campus is the opposite of increasing support. Thanks to ITF for Challaneger WCs to top 20 ITA but what is USTA doing?

UGA pulled it out 4-3. Henning beat Basing for the second time (beat him in Tulsa too). Fery, Banerjee and Kolasinski won their matches to tie it at 3-3. The Card were humbled in doubles yet again losin two of the matches 6-1. It’s tough to keep finding 4 Ws in singles especially without Basavareddy

Still a close match (in singles) without basavareddy playing singles. That’s a good sign. What’s bad is that he played doubles with fery and they got smoked. It’s not sustainable to always lose the doubles point against the better teams.

Ninesh would have won that doubles point with Fery, if he was healthy. I know what it's like to play doubles injured, it doesn't go well

I really think the Stanford pickleball training experiment has gone on long enough

they’re getting really great at pickle doubles but it’s not translating to the tennis doubles point like Goldstein predicted when he instituted the training regimen last year

Stanford men should be thankful they were not back home, where an important women's match against Pepperdine got rained out due to a lack of indoor courts. If Stanford cannot afford indoor courts, or afford to have an arrangement with a local club, maybe the alumni of Cal State-Chico and Cal State-Sacramento can pitch in with a GoFundMe to get it done for them, just out of pity.

the USTA should be embarrassed . Great deciding match between Philip Henning and Max Basing...and there is no live scorring and no live video.
Will Learner Tien ever take the court for Southern Cal?

There is live video for indoors. but no live score.....LOL Umpires are not even calling out the score......LOL
