Is Rafa better than Novak on US open hard courts??

We are pretty much aware that Noavk is superior Hard courter to Rafa,but novak's records in US open is pretty dismal,he has 1-4 records in the finals as in comparison to Rafa who has 2-1 records in Us open finals.So what do you guys say,:)Is Rafa better than Novak on US open hard courts??

Nadal won the USO with cake draws without having to meet the hard court GOAT Federer. So, it is a big asterisk, whereas Nole has 2 epic 5 setter wins against Fed. This alone gives Nole the edge.

So far, yes. Novak could show up to 6 more finals, if he loses them he's still below Rafa's 2 titles. To the victor go the spoils. I expect Novak to add at least one more though, so this is pointless.

You need to a chill pill before posting,your hate is apparent.By your logic Andy is greater than Nole on grass since he has tons of finals n lost to the GOAT in all those finals!!:p

Ok ,take an example,,lets say nOVAK BEATS Rafa in RG next year,then whom would you consider greater in RG..Novak with 1+1 or fed with 1+4?? Mind you,novak would have gone through the clay GOAT and fed never got a sniff of it..

But Andy Roddick didnt win against Fed, while Novak did. big difference.

Winning those 5 setters against Fed is a much more spectacular achievement than faking your way through cakewalk draws of 2010 and 13.

Well,i am not a tennis historian nor do I have time to study tennis history,i have more important things to do in my life.Fortunately,I don't spend my life arguing on an internet forum endlessly.

It doesn't matter if Nadal is better than Novak on hard courts, or not.

Nadal is the better big match and finals player.

The big match player goes home with the trophy. It doesn't matter if the other player is better or not.

They have to execute.

But at the USO? Obviously.

Is 2 wins, 1 runner-up appearance necessarily better than 1 win, 4 runner-up appearances?

In the UK, if this was an Olympic medal table, Nadal's record would be considered better, as the table is lexically ordered, so more golds trumps an infinite number more silvers.

But, in the USA, isn't the medal table calculated as 3 points for gold, 2 for silver, and 1 for bronze? In that case, Nadal would have 8 points and Djokovic 11. If we then gave them one point each for the semi-finals, then Djokovic would add two to take him to 13, while Nadal would add two to take him to 10. Either way, on this system of counting, Djokovic has better results.

The results may not lie, but they have to be interpreted if they are to be made meaningful.

Rafa is the superior HC player at Flushing Meadows. The USO isn't slower than clay courts like AO and Miami.

Novak can now run faster than Rafa so he's the favorite on really slow hard courts. On the fast/medium fast ones, Rafa is better.

Hard to say really, Djokovic is more consistant but he's failed so many times in the championship match. Where Nadal has had 2 really dominant runs but hasn't felt like a year in year out favorite IMO.

I give it to Nadal for now, if Djokovic wins a second he'll be ahead by a comfortable margin.

2. Nadal is not the GOAT, so no need to deal with it.

Djokovic will always be the more talented of the two. However, Rafa is a mental beast and that is how he has 2 slams, compared to Novak's 1 at the USO. Plus the occasional cake draw now and again has it's say as well.

Wait, so winning a match against a great opponent is a "spectacular achievement", more so than winning the tournament?.

Is this coming from the same people who insist it doesn't matter against whom Fed won his slams, and that Rafa's h2h against main opponents is irrelevant?.
