my rankings up to today

1 ) Oklahoma, this is real good team, i ve my little doubts they can challenge UVA, OSU, USC; Ucla for the title, but they are Top5
and this is just right, they ve beaten a bunch of good teams, went 2-1 even in ITA Indoors, only losing to UCLA, they were close vs UCLA.

2 ) Baylor, so far with Lenz out, this is just a very good team, but not excellent, have only lost vs USC and Oklahoma

3) Texas, very much improved team, won this "Wagland-Ita-indoor-game" vs Georgia. kudos for beating Cal . They also stole one from Michigan on the road, only lost at Illinois, but came very close. Texas is a very experienced team with lots of juniors plus 2 seniors. The Wake Forest game was a big struggle by the way.

after them it gets a little weaker, but still a strong top to bottom league (also they ve only 6 teams...and every recruit from Texas and Oklahoma only can choose between 6 teams...in this conference...)

4) okla State, only one loss vs Tulsa, some decent wins vs 2 SEC-Teams, Arkansas/Alabama, they not played the ITA, have also wins over Minnesota and a very good one vs Tennessee

5) TCU, now scheduled a bunch of weaker teams, crashing them every time, kudos for nearly beating UNC on the road! TCU nearly shocked the world, come close to beat Florida in National indoors quali finals. They are really solid and above average team. Have an interesting WestCoast Trip to Pepperdine and Cal, plus interesting home games vs Texas A&M and Columbia. They ve a great coach in David Roditi, and did u know that TCU has allways of the best attendances in all NCAA? over 1000 travel to them when they play Texas or Texas A& M !!! that is crazy !!!

6) TTech hold the flags high at Blue-Gray, they played good solid tennis there, have a close loss vs Miss State, but the rest not looks too good, close win vs Rice, Miami (who are both weak this year), a loss vs USF...tough to imagine they even can win one match in a packed Big12 (Big12 with 6 teams..)

Best conference in American this year. Texas Tech's players are very talented however the coach there does not do a good of maximizing talent.

i not wrote anything again here..but now i do me update on this

1) Oklahoma got their #1 ranking first ever
have only 2 losses overall, could be a no1 still
2) Texas, showed everything as they beat Oklahome on home courts
have only 3 losses; Baylor this weekend !!!
3) Baylor are 3rd so long they not beat Texas, only 4 losses, so slighly behind Texas, great team that got even better over the season

all the big 3 can make a lot of noise when ncaas come, all can finish in the Elite 8 !!!

4) Okla State, gave their hearts in every match, lost only 3 times, but still have games vs Baylor & Oklahoma ahead, came really close to beat Texas in end of march ! They could be a Top16 team with slightly better scheduling

5) TCU , the team with the most toughest losses in ita this season, they ve lost 3-4 to North Carolina, to Oklahoma, to Okla State, to Tulsa, to California and to Columbia !!!

wow....6 very hard losses vs very good teams..heartbreaking (lost also 2-4 vs Texas and vs Florida)

TCU really deserves to be in Ncaas...but ???

6) Texas Tech, will make ncaas, has some solid wins, a top35 ranking, great win over Louisville, but thats the end, could beat TCU maybe..vs Okla State will be tough

1) Oklahoma , easilyl dominated tulsa, only lost the doubles, doubles could be a problem when playing Elite 8 or further

2) Texas, destroyed TCU, which is a good result

3) Baylor beat Ttech and TCU (yesterday) , hard fought wins, but in the end easy wins , big weekend ahead @ both oklahomas

4) Okla State, had some trouble vs SMU, vs Baylor on sunday will be huge

5) TCU , their are fading now after all their heartbreaking losses, in the end lost bot Texas & Baylor very tough, also especially Baylor could ve gone either way; vs Rice this Saturday will not really help

TCU really deserves to be in Ncaas...but ???

6) Texas Tech, got crushed at Baylor, but will not hurt their ncaa worthy ranking

It will be a very big weekend for Baylor - if they win at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State they'd jump up to #3.

I don't see Okstate taking more than 2 points from Baylor, even with the double point won. As for the Oklahoma Baylor match-up, playing a solid top-to-bottom team like Baylor will tell a lot about how strong Oklahoma really is. Up to this point, it's been a bit up and down with our double line-up as well as single 5 & 6. I would be surprised if we lost double, 5&6 and can still win against team of Baylor's caliber.

Baylor will be heavy favorites at 5 and 6. OU should try something other than Papac and Siegel. 3 and 4 are slight leans to Oklahoma. 1 and 2 will be two slugfests between big time players. Match of the weekend for sure and one of the top ones of the year.

I'm not sure why Ghilea and Siributwong have not played more for us at 5 and 6. Though i do notice that Siributwong in the past 2 years has been playing and getting very good single results early on in the season, only to eventually got fatigue and ended the year losing to lesser opponents. Maybe Roddick is trying to build up more depth to the whole squad.

I saw Ghilea played last weekend against TU and he looks noticeably bigger built than earlier this season, and with the added weight, seems like he's playing much more aggressive especially on the FH wing.

OU takes a big big doubles point. Looks like the home court advantage is helping OU here

Definitely winning the double will help. I'm not sure why Alcorta is not playing at #1 against Pradella with him already owned all win against Pradella. Meanwhile, Alvarez beat Lenz last year to clinch Big 12 and again earlier this year at Indoor National.

Harris gave OU another points with 3 and 2 win against Luprieri. OU also took first set at 2 and 4, but Baylor is closing in on 1 and 5.

Pradella took #1 over Alvarez 6-2 6-3. It's now 2-2 with Webb up 1st set and on tie-break 2nd at 3. Alcorta up a set at #2 and Siegel down 1st set.

Webb took 2nd set in the tie-break and Dornbusch took 2nd set from Siegel 6-4. It's 3-3 now, down to the #2 single player Lenz against #5 Alcorta with Alcorta won 1st set and tie 4-4 2nd

Yep, they all seem much more competitive than scoring line shows, except for #4 and #5.

Alcorta held serve to go up 5-4 after being down 0-40.

Lenz took 2nd set 7-5. This match is heading to a third. The quality of tennis is extremely high right now with Alcorta hitting some amazing FH and great touch passing shots. Lenz shows no nerve with constant 120mph first serve in some of the last games of the set.

both of these guys are probably top 300 ATP level if they were to commit full time to the tour.

are you there Boomer?

I'm watching on my computer with premium subscription. I agree, alcorta probably has one of the most variety FH and pro-like feel around the court. Lenz all-around game is also very much pro-like, with heavy shots from both wings.

They were only showing primarily match 1, 2, and very brief 3, so here are some observation:
#1: 2 players of similar style who both look to dictate play and bully their opponents. Pradella does have a bigger and more consistent serve than Alvarez whereas Alvarez are a bit more consistent in the back court. This match is a little closer than score line shows, but Pradella did play very well today and hit his spots on most of the serving games.

#3: Webb plays with bigger serve and ground strokes than Galeano, but Galeano does show why he is a very good clay court player with great movement around the court and heavy loaded spin FH. At the end, Webb was able to put more pressure on Galeano by hitting side to side and attack net.

#4: looks quite lopsided whenever camera shows some points there. Harris will keep overmatching his opponents playing at #4 if he can keep focus.

#2: this is one of the highest quality match I have ever seen in college tennis (and I do go watch ITA all-American just about every year). Lenz serves big from start to finish, and it seems like the more key the point, the bigger he goes for his serve, even second serve. He does not have as much variety with FH and BH as Alcorta, but boy, balls are heavy every single shot. I think he may be overrated at #2, but definitely belongs in the top 10 this year with Thompson, Giron, Frank, Alcorta. Alcorta on the other hand is playing extremely unpredictable with pretty much the FH wing which he spins heavy, hits short, or goes almost complete flat without changing stance. One of the underrated aspect of his game is the anticipation and feel for where the other guy is on the court. There are at least 10 points which Lenz had him on the run and went behind him on an approach that Alcorta found a way to get a passing shot and ended up winning the point. Overall, excellent night of tennis from both team and even better when we ended up winning. BOOMER SOONERS!

Good recovery from Soares after losing that long tiebreak. Most players would go away there. That win is a big one for Texas Tech. Assures their tournament spot if there was any doubt.

Baylor sweeps all 3 doubles courts to take the point over Okie St and Oklahoma does the same to Texas Tech.

1) Oklahoma , good close win over baylor and then shutting out Ttech, the sooners are the real no.1 here.

2) Texas, not played, vs Baylor tomorrow is the decider for 2nd place in Big12

3) Baylor lost to the Sooners after good battle then shutout Okla State. the difference between Top3 and bottom 3 is heavy in the Big12

4) Okla State, bad weekend, losing to Ttech and getting swept by Baylor

5) Texas Tech, great win vs Okla State, pushes them ahead of poorly TCU

6) TCU , swept Rice, but that will not help

TCU really deserves to be in Ncaas...but ??? can they give Ttech and Texas a great fight this upcoming weekend?

The Baylor blogger said he still had 1 more year of eligibility if he wanted to come back for another season but wasn't sure if he would.

When did Oklahoma get so good at tennis? I went to school there in the late 80s early 90s. We had Olivier Loren and nobody else of note. We tapped into the Tyler JC for a couple of Big 8 titles but we weren't anything to write home about.

I guess I need to get back to OU and see what has happened. It is only 3 hours away.

Dornbusch was always only planning to come for one semester. Pradella was actually planning to do the same, he only stayed the second year because he met a girl...

Okie St and Okie dubs point comes down to #2. Alcorta/Alvarez up 5-4 on Gerch Sachs. Kadhe/Sude beat Webb/Harris 8-5 at 1 and Papac/Siributwong beat Bohrnstedt/Haworth 8-3 at 3.

OSU Twitter said there was some controversy at the end of the doubles point: Alcorta faulted on his 2nd serve at 7-7 which would have given OSU the lead at 8-7 with them serving for it, but the umpire ruled that Gerch was in the return box. OU was awarded a let, & won next two pts.

I just love it when Umpires enforce the rules strictly in college tennis. they just sometimes sit in the chair and look like a statue. they need to get involved more and use their authority to the fullest
