Comes in 93 square inch and 97 square inch. Replaces the current VCore Tour 89 and VCore Tour 97. Lleyton Hewitt is playtesting these right now

If Tour G is Gravity, what does Tour F stand for?

Any color scheme info?

Thanks, sixone90.

If it's like the new Regna Japan-only line, it looks like the Ai series with predominantly all-black, but with red accents instead of yellow.

Borna Coric and Sabine Lisicki will be playing this line next year.

I hope it follows the Tour G in that it's matte. Matte red or matte black with red accents would be great.

Even better: Pay homage to the RDX500 with a similar paintjob.

Knowledge on specs and release date?

Not sure on specs, January release. Though comparing the 2 headsizes, the string spacing is exactly the same on both. So if you were to put the 93 over the 97, the strings would line up and be in the exact same place.

Continuation of the 97 Tour line I'm assuming? Will there be a 310g of the 97

You can't disclose any info even if I emailed you privately? Makeover as in paint or as in how the racquet plays?

16x21 string pattern..?

I can't reveal much because that's all I know .haha. I only took a 4 seconds glimpse on the rep 's mobile photo album. Heh. Paintjob main colour is slightly on the rqis 1 tour 95's side. Haha

Is it a confirmed January release date? I called Yonex and they said it's more likely a new one comes out in April.

Huh? Why are the specs useless?

And why is Eastern Rocks pounding this guy for info after saying he was not interested in Yonex frames over and over 2 months ago?

These are the mysteries of TT that I ponder.

Haha seriously, 310g even if unstrung is too low for a mid size racquet. Maybe another 'platform' frame like the PS95 and the Prestige rev pro. However many people are looking to play frames stock so these featherweight mids aren't exactly going to take the world by storm.

sixone90,

Have heard different release dates. You said Jan, Yonex said somewhere in April/May. Can you confirm its going to be in few months in Jan?

Depends what part of the world you're in I guess. I'm from Australia so we'll probably get it in late January/early February, a few months before the US like what happened with the Tour G

Interesting. Yonex told me that there may not even be a 310 and 330 and the continuity may not be there from the older VCT line. Yonex may look to change up weights even, maybe get rid of the 330 altogether. Sixone90 can you confirm or deny this? I'm also confused by your comment that there is a big makeover like the Graphene Prestige RevPro... what do you mean by that?

Hopefully they keep the specs on the 93 close to the 89. That would be an amazing frame, the 89 is just a tad small even with the Yonex sweet spot.

It's supposed to be light à la Graphene Prestige Rev Pro from what I've heard

^ What?? One weight and super light like the Rev Pro? Is that just the 93 you heard about or the whole line? That would make sense because the Yonex rep I spoke to couldn't confirm any specs really, but did say that static weight can definitely change

I've heard something about 310 gram for the 93 (nothing specific on the other two though), which quite frankly is too light for a mid and makes it a platform racquet in my book (if that really is the case). I am happy that Yonex finally brings out a 93 though, it will be really interesting as Yonex's generally play slightly larger than their headsize, so this will be one pretty forgiving mid.

That's interesting. You'd think a mid would be a lot heavier, something like a 330.

Nothing specific, meaning you really know nothing as of now?

Not sure about weights, those are my guesses. I didn't say anything regarding a big makeover like the Graphene Prestige Rev Pro.

I think the pros will be playing with the Tour F in January, but, because of distribution channels in Japanese manufacturing, it won't be available in the US until April. It will be available in Australia/Asia in January. This was exactly the timeline for the Tour G.

I wouldn't make a racquet decision based on Yonex release time. Most likely these frames will release in the US in March. Now you could get lucky, but usually that is the timeline. So if you need frames now, go with what is available.

Yeah, I'm just going to be very bummed out if the VCT line doesn't have any continuity with this supposed F line. The VCT 97 310 with some lead is what I'll be testing next week against my AI and some other Yonex's.

Why? You don't even use the frame, not worth being bummed. Thats how Yonex rolls. Just buy the frames you like and then get something new a few years later. It's always been this way with Yonex.

So the Tour line is now going with alphabets assignments?

Tour E - logically maps to Original Vcore Tour
Tour G - "Gravity"
Tour F - ?
Tour H - ?
Tour I - ?
...
Tour S - "Stan The Man" (by the time we get here, it'll be the Senior Tour Edition) :p
