It's a long season! I think City will have a couple of down periods, playing the way they do is going to be tough to keep going for an entire season. When the games start to come thick and fast when the international nonsense finishes, the weather turns, teams learn how to handle them a bit better etc..

They're still red hot favourites and it's going to take an enormous effort from a team to keep pace and take advantage of the slip ups, but it's doable. Man Utd can do it, Spurs can also (if they get to grips with the whole Wembley thing).

Lol I sent that picture to my mate. He was at the game and is not amused. Yeah, you have to expect a beating eventually. Just couldn't imagine it being at Huddersfield. It was only the other night when Stevie G of all people was defending United and their tactics against Liverpool. They also talked about matches like this being the matches they couldn't afford to drop points. It escalated quickly with defeat at Huddersfield.

Expected a more convincing win over last placed Malaga, Deulofeu's first goal for the club shouldn't have counted. Oh well. Got to do better in the next La Liga game when we visit Bilbao.

Valencia with some very good form, especially in front of goal. Only one less goal scored than us. Took a point at home against Atletico and away against Real. Got to watch out for them.

It’s going to be interesting to see how it plays out. They’re playing like ‘09 Barcelona, but is that sustainable in England? Can it be done when it’s -5 degrees and the rain is coming down sideways? When sides get past the sheer awe of it and start hacking at them? That’s not going to happen in Spain, but embarrassing a journeyman English squad player is going to have consequences.

I still think they’ll win the title, but it’s not going to be as easy as it’s been so far imo.

Jose Mourinho is to blame for that. Pretty much the exact same match as last season, United gave the illusion of being a little more threatening because the team has improved. Yeah, the players have to take some blame. The manager isn't the one out on the pitch. Magic is still possible.

At least you're used to it. We all are. Not ready to give up the season just yet. lol

What a game it was! We had my Grandad over to watch the stream, but he ended up sleeping for most of it (perks of being 84 I guess). Anyway, Midlands Today should be entertaining tomorrow evening. They always manage to find the strangest of characters to interview outside the club shop up town after a big game.

Oh my goodness. Flashback to 1997, underage drinking and white lightning. lol Must have been all I could afford back then or maybe it had a reputation. Trying to get somebody to go into the off licence to buy it for us. They were kids once, they understood. Whatever the case, the cider days did not last long. ewwwwww

Haha I think it was a mixture of the price and the quantity it came in. The bottles were massive! I think they’re bigger than my current water boiler set up

I actually didn’t mind the taste though, Woodpecker was another one. Then of course you have Lambrusco when it was time to take a girl down the park, treat her to the good stuff, you know? Unless you weren’t really feeling it, then it would be Lambrini (the fake version of Lambrusco, for the time when 99p for 5 litres is just too steep a proposition

It really was rocket fuel. I seem to remember being able to see in the dark after drinking too much of it. I’m not sure if it gave me superpowers or if it was that dirty it made everyone who drank it glow

Woodpecker is the good stuff? I seem to remember it being cheap. Maybe it was Kingfisher then. I just remember it had a red label and was named after some form of bird haha.

You might be on to something with the Lambrusco, maybe they start handing it out again during the man of the match presentations? Cheap and large quantities could lead to some F1 style spraying celebrations. Much better than that weird green trophy they give players these days, surely!

Keep praising Martial, Poisoned Slice, it's working. Next time say he is 20x better than Rashford.

The most goals in last 10 minutes stat came up then all of a sudden Martial is in and another goal in the last 10. It was great. Did feel like a deserved win. Think it comes down to Martial's cool French elegance. Not that I dislike Rashford, he almost made a chance for Lukaku before he came off. At the time of the sub I would have kept Rashford on but I can see that there was no chance of taking Lukaku off. Worked in the end. Need to make chances for the big man since he is not the most dynamic centre forward in the world.

It would be great if the lead is still 8 points after the first El Clasico. But let's not completely ignore Valencia, they are on some very good form and have played both Real and Atletico already.
