I am thinking Anderson in three pretty easy straight sets. My hypothesis is Thiem does not quite have the footspeed to make if far on hardcourts. He's not gone far this Summer on hard courts, but this may be due to his heavy July clay court schedule where Thiem won two events in a row, and was seed #1 for a third event right after these wins. Also won Nice right before French. He's on a roll, so there is hope for a break through.
Yep. Thiem stands way to far back to return serve. Still too much of a clay game. Hopefully in a few yrs he'll modify his game to work on all surfaces.
I want to see next year's clay court season unfold. Thiem had Austrian military service before the clay court season and that probably accounts for his slow start this past season. Hopefully he gets his ranking up a little more so always seeded. Next year or so should be very telling.
One of my favorite players. I hope he takes it to the next level against Anderson. Hopefully the sun is low enough that Thiem will get to display his "image is everything" hair do. It definantly changes your perception of him on the court and he seem's to be on quite a roll since the blonde mohawk look started in July. The hair seems to be making Dominic more confident.

I remember watching him live v Djokovic in Shanghai last yr - was amazed how live his arm was.
Anderson has improved so much; unrecognizable from the player he was when he showed up on tour. Fitness, BH, return. Still not a great mover but a lot better than most of the other > 6'6" players on tour.
Dominic has to break him. Another tie breaker with this guy not a good idea!
Anderson has had the hot hand with returns lately. When he is on he can just take the game some of the time. That serve and return game is tough right now.
