not only the birdman, Cilic too, once Djokovic was out, these two have 100x more motivations to going forward.
Isn't this the case with just about all of the remaining seeds?

The Muzziah to continue his march, he is looking in imperious form now. That was a clinical performance against Nick. He has been battle hardened after going toe-to-toe with the heavyweight champion himself, over the clay season. Only guy who can stop him imo is a full flowing Fed Express, anything less is simply not good enough. It is almost criminal that a guy like Murray hasn't won more slams, maybe this is where he can finally begin some sort of ascension upwards.

His only mistake was having djokovic and fed in the same era.

Murray has always been in control in this H2H and is a bad matchup for Tsonga but if Jo comes out firing down serves like he can, he could prove to be difficult. Altho after the last 2 rounds of watching Andy's performance, its hard to bet against him.

Ill go with Murray in 4

yes but the boost level is vastly different, for Cilic and birdman, it's 100x more, others maybe 50x or less

Murray.

But Tsonga was serving good in the final set vs Big John. but again, I suppose Big Johns returns are nowhere in the same continent as Murray's.

Murray in four.
Unfortunately for Jo, he's never been patient or consistent enough to match Andy's steady baseline game and his defense. Even though Jo has some serious weapons in his arsenal (forehand and serve) when he's zoning, he's never been able to put it all together against Murray. The exception is that performance in Toronto two years ago.

Tsonga's chances go up because he gets a rest. Lucky.

But I still hugely favor Murray, who is playing at a level so far way above what he did in 2013 and is back with Lendl.

I think the only person who can stop him is Federer.

There's no way I can pick against Murray with his 12-3 record vs Tsonga, including 2-0 at Wimbledon, and in light of the fact that 2 of Tsonga's wins came very early in their H2H.

That, said, I do believe Tsonga can make it "interesting" and has a slim chance of pulling off the upset. Gasquet's default resulting in Tsonga only spending 24 minutes on court today will do him world of good and increase the chances that he gives Murray a tough match.

Boring prediction, but Murray in 4.

All their four grass encounters (two at Wimby, two at Queens) have ended the same way: Tsonga getting away with one set.

So Tson of God in five it is then!?

I think this will be a beat down. Tsonga is simply too inconsistent and erratic to make any dent in Muzz's complete and total concentration out there. Go, Ivan!

Not watching this. I can't enjoy Tsonga getting crushed. Murray makes him so hopeless.

True. I'm always amazed when I see Tsonga play Murray. When he plays Federer, he plays out of his mind, then acts like a doofus when he plays Murray. It's sad.

Matchups. Murray's style kills unorthodox offensive game. Orthodox offensive players like Dimitrov do trouble him a lot or just blast him off the court. Tsonga however has no hope. Judy at her very best managing draws. Intelligent lady!

Yeah, you're right. How are you enjoying the tournament so far? Which matches have you seen or enjoyed?

Certainly not as last year. Federer is far from being perfect as he was last time from R1 but he is improving. I didn't watch anything outside of CC this time tbh - 6.5/10. But still there is a lot Tennis left. Federer has good chance of winning too. This could turn into one the most memorable Slams for Fed fans, at least I hope so.

I hope so too. I'm hoping Federer can improve, but I'm not popping the champagne yet. The rain delay last week put a dampener on things a bit.

If Murray handpicked his opponents, he couldn't have done a better job. His draw was made in heaven. It's been like that the whole year. Tsonga is pretty useless when he plays Murray.

And this is why I've been waiting so long for him to become the regular 2nd seed. Draws get a whole lot easier when you're not guaranteed a semi against fed or novak.

Disagree. Pretty sure he would have picked Johnson, Pouille, Goffin, Vesely (over Kyrgios), and for the quarters he would have certainly picked Pouille, or Vesely if he makes it to quarters (over Tsonga).
Kirgios in R16 and Tsonga in QF is a cakedraw? I have seen way easier in the past (even though I was delighted to see Murray destroy Kyrgios again).

I saw several guys here calling Kyrgios a darkhorse and suddenly he became a cakedraw (once the match was over?)

Amen to what you said!

Had I been handpicking draw for my favorite, I would have certainly avoided both :D

I actually wanted Kyrgios to be in Novak's quarter.

I think what Pagoo means is that their gamestyle suits Murray but then credit to Murray for handling this kind of player fairly easily ;)
If you put R16 Kyrgios + QF Tsonga in any other player draw it will be considered tough.

There is something I noticed these last years, it is pretty rare now to see very tough draw before the quarter-finals for a guy seeded #1 or #2 because the difference of level are more importatnt. Last fairly tough draw I can remember before the quarter-finals is Wimbledon 2014 with Djokovic going through Stepanek, Simon, Tsonga, Cilic, Dimitrov and Fed.
