Rafa is using his serve just like Nole used his to great effect in 2015. It doesnt need to be powerful, just varied in order to set the points up and get free points. This serve if he keeps improving it will allow him to play longer on the tour.

Haha yh they seem to against the big teams.
I'm a Chelsea Fan anyway. Either one loses I'll be happy.

Let's hope that City/Chelsea/United can get far in Champions League we need to perform well in Europe again!! Hopefully a premier league side can see P$G or some other big club off.

Yh ano. Been too long.
I remember the time when United and Chelsea were two of the biggest clubs in Europe alongside Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern. Getting to semis and Finals of champions league so often. The other 3 big teams would actually fear the two. I think around 2006 to 2012. Now they're nothing in Europe.

See we can still be friends, like your tennis acumen your football/soccer acumen is level headed and fair. :)

Gl to your boys this year, should be a great title race.

Woke up to the score, closer that I anticipated.
Score line is little strange. Though from score line it looked to be a match that could have gone either way, but during match it never looked like so. Something like Djokovic-Nadal Rome 2016 match which had score line of 7-5, 7-6 but Nadal had never looked like defeating Djokovic,

Will be sad if Nadal is again tired against Federer. All their meetings this year happened when Nadal was either gassed or just in very bad form. When Nadal was in good form Federer skipped clay and lost to Del Potro in USO. Now, Nadal is playing very good in Beijing and Shanghai, but now he looks pretty much tired from so many matches.

Actually Nadal had enough chances in that match. He was up a break in both sets, and served for the second set (held 5 set points)

I'm a United fan more than a football fan. I'd be like the guy in football manager press conferences.

''I don't care about the other premier league teams in Europe, can we just talk about Manchester United?''

Speaking of football manager. If I get the new one I will be managing PSG. :D

Local for 4:30 PM. So for US, 4:30 AM Eastern Time, and 1:30 AM Pacific Time. Pretty bad time for US viewers. For most Europe such as London, it should be fine, around 9:30 AM on Sunday morning.
except for those of us who have some heavy drinking to do tonight...

I can still vividly remember @vernonbc's frustration at the end of the 1st set in that match - it was driving her absolutely mad that Nadal couldn't even take a set off Djokovic at the time, let alone beat him. :D

hilarious. Federer came into the Miami final having played 2 3-set thrillers - Kyrgios and Berdych.
Nadal had strolled into the final with an easy draw.

that's just about the worst HC for federer and he still beat Nadal convincingly. Nadal has himself to blame for not playing well in that final.

As far as IW is concerned, neither were tired, nor were there too many rounds to assess that Nadal was playing badly. He wasn't playing bad. He just got plain beat up by federer.

As far as AO is concerned, Nadal looked fine in the final. He just got plain outplayed in the final set. Though Nadal did have one day less to rest, remember federer had the tougher draw to get to the final ..federer also had minor injury niggle in the groin area.

------------

Federer is not going to keep grinding on clay at this age. He's done enough of that and kept losing to Nadal in clay finals. No, thanks

USO - federer's preparation was hampered by his injury and delpo played an excellent match, so you can't blame him that much for the end result (of course his stupid decision making in that match was a factor too, but no guarentee he'd have won without those decisions)

now that he's healed and prepared fully, he's back in the final at Shanghai
