OH boy, in this thread, Rafa fans are completely outnumbered by Federer fanatics.
I don't get this kind of thing. I see where it's coming from, but he can't win forever. At some point he's going to stop being like he always has been. It's nearly impossible to beat nadal. All the stars must align for that to happen.
1. Must play out of your mind for the whole entire match.
2. Nadal must be playing like crap.
3. There must not be any delays or interruptions, otherwise said player is 99% doomed.
Chances of all 3 happening, long enough for Nadal to lose is nearly impossible.

The latter enabling the former. The standaard question from someone who wasn’t watching: Diego good or Nadal bad?
We shut our mouths? I don't remember thatFed fans were VERY quick to attack him at the AO too, cheater bla bla bla until he actually retired and shut their mouths.
They go crazy cause Rafa takes 2 or 3 seconds more on his serviceThe only thing that annoys me is when Fed fans accuse Rafa of cheating.

Good point. I still think Nadal is winning anyway, but you often see it with Nadal at RG. He wears out his opponents because they're hitting every ball at 110% trying to hit winners, so if it lasts it's only for a set, maybe set and a half max and then they tire out and Nadal destroys them.
Rafa is not playing well at all, and that is with all credit to Diego, who is a mental giant out there.
In the first set Diego was VERY good. If you'll look at Rafa's serve stats they are not good, but that's at least partially because of how much Schwartzman was pouncing on every little opportunity (Nadal was at 48% first serve points won in the first set!) Diego is hitting it way harder than Nadal off both wings so keeping him pinned way back, he hit 20 winners in the first set to Nadal's 3. He's just dominating him, and rattled him to the point that Rafa is missing easy shots he'd never miss in a million years, easy put aways at net, overheads he's normally so safe on, he looks really bad.The standaard question from someone who wasn’t watching: Diego good or Nadal bad?
some fun drumming to listen to during the delay.
And your point is? He lost that match because of retirement and didn't take a "fake MTO" and didn't cheat like he often is accused of.And his devastating injury turned out to be a minor hip flexor pull that sidelined him for what, two weeks?
You’re saying it like if he caused the rainNothing would be sweeter than to see Nadal go down to Schwartzy. That scumbag Nadal has been getting away with crap for way too long.
Always the same logic from trolls. Nadal is a lucky **** by willing the raingods for conditions that do not favour him and have been present since the start of the match just so he can get a break when those conditions get extreme enough. Point is, the deficit brought about by that condition would have gotten so large by the point he gets the break that he can't make up for it.
Again, typical hater logic. Everything that happens in the entire world is his fault. Even rain.

I guess you must be perfectBut he literally does cheat though

In 2020 when they get a roof.Anyone actually knows when play is expected to continue?

Why do facts annoy you?
Imagine if Anderson won that match against Diego? What a dud this QF would turn out to be.
In 15 minutes

Nadal has got just 8 winners so far. UE count must around 20. It's Diego' choking kept match this close.

Tell me one single match when Rafa took a MTO when he wasn't injured. Why do facts annoy you?
haha you said shortlylooks like the match continues shortly
That much annoys you that he takes 2-4 seconds more of his service gameI never said I was. But I don’t consistently bend the rules in anything I do.
It's not his fault, but he's been lucky in the Rome final and now at a very important time here again though to be honest I still think he'd win this. Everyone is going to get lucky sometimes. Though earlier on with the MTO before Diego served for the match then another delay before set point... maybe it's not Rafa who is lucky today but Diego who is UNlucky.
Similar thing with Federer at Wimbledon, had a rain delay one year when Roddick was up a set and a break in the final, and though he didn't win in 2008, I think he was 2 sets down before a rain delay to Nadal? It's just this coming so soon after Rome vs Zverev, people are going to go "wow, again?!" Over the course of a whole career, the rain has probably not favoured Nadal more than any other big player, just seems to be on a roll of it at the moment.
And yeah the conditions might not suit him that much, but that's outdoor tennis for you. Conditions can't suit one player 100% of the time, but if you are the best as Nadal is you should be able to adapt. It's like people moaning about grass becoming worn away at the end of wimbledon and thus slower.... that's the nature of the game. If you want perfect conditions, play indoors... but he doesn't like that. He's still the king of clay even if it gets damp, he can still beat anyone in damp conditions, just at the moment Diego is playing better than him. Very few though could do that over 5 sets so, dampness or not, Nadal is always the man to beat. I don't get why people act like the king of clay becomes flat out useless on it when it gets damp. Give the other guy some credit and also maybe admit Nadal will just have off days regardless of conditions.
And I'll tell you 2 times when Federer has taken MTO's when he wasn't injured: Ao 2017 against Stan and Rafa.Tell me one single match when Rafa took a MTO when he wasn't injured.
