Lots and lots of lead (bit less now), tight string pattern, and talent with reading the courtIt's odd how Nadal's heavy topspin doesn't bother Djokovic at all. Nadal isn't able to win points based on the spin and the effect at all, and he needs to be very risky with his shot placement, which is not his thing.
Rafa holds to open second set. He has a chance here, I maintain that Novak has not looked unbeatable tonight. However he needs to believe in his shots and depth.
Yes, Nadal needs to up his level and do it really quickly otherwise this could slip away fast. He absolutely needs this set, or it is over.
Are you seriously comparing Thiem to Djokovic? LOL
No doubt Novak is outplaying him. But Nadal has played pretty bad by his standards especially early in that first set. 11 UE is so unlike him.
Why? Rafa grunts in every match. Djokovic starts to grunt when he raises the intensity. It's been like this for their whole careers.
Can you drop the reasonableness for once and just root for your man? ;P
whats going on with nadal on the run? he seems injured when hes stretching on eithr side

RAFA return looking Federeresque feeble rn
uscwang agreesIs this a joke?
OMG. I've never seen this level of baseline rally. Tennis can be played like this?!
The trouble is, this I think is Nadal's natural instinct when under pressure. He's going to have to force himself to play out of his comfort zone. The way I see it, Nadal is allowing Djokovic way too much time on the ball to do what he wants. Djokovic is not rushed.
This is exactly the way Djokovic wants it, I said if Nadal tries to go into a baseline war, he will fall into the trap. He fell into it in the first set.
Ned injured, moral victory already confirmed.
