Del Potro Out Of Wimbledon, Needs Knee Surgery
Juan Martin del Potro is out of Wimbledon and will undergo knee surgery after fracturing his right patella for the second time in a slip at Queen's Club.
It seemed a slight slip on grass, but it's created a major injury issue for Juan Martin del Potro.
The 2009 US Open champion has withdrawn from next month's Wimbledon and will require knee surgery after re-injuring his right knee during his 7-5, 6-4 Queen's Club victory over Denis Shapovalov yesterday.
"The medical studies done last night in a clinic in London show that Juan Martin del Potro has suffered again a fracture in the right patella," del Potro's communication team said in a statement on Instagram.
"After consultation with his doctor Angel Cotorro, it has been determined that it will require surgery. This will take place in the next couple of days with a date and location to be determined. We will keep you informed."
Cheers

I'm going with the latter, but it will be interesting to see.Nadal will be the most interesting player to watch. Time to find out of 2018 was a return to form, or merely a blip on the radar with his wandering grass form this decade.

Federer gets second seed!
WHY is the Qualifying singles matches not being broadcast ?? Only live scores are available
https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/scores/index.html
there is no tennis on channel 2. also I think USA is geoblockedThey can be viewed by red button on BBC Channel 2 which is currently showing Eastbourne .

They don't apply the formula to the women they just go with the WTA rankings. If the formula is necessary they should do it for both the men and the women.

These seeds are not "preliminary," but basically already set in stone (pending any additional withdrawals)Saw some prelim, projected seeds

1. Djokovic
2. Federer
3. Nadal
4. Anderson
5. Thiem
6. Zverev
7. Tsitsipas
8. Nishikori
9. Isner
10. Khachanov
11. Daniil Medvedev
12. Fognini
13. Cilic
14. Coric
15. Raonic
16. Monfils
If that holds up:
One of Djokovic vs Federer is getting a huge break, with Anderson on their half instead of Nadal
One of the top 4 is getting a huge break, with Nishikori in their quarter instead of Zverev, Tsitsipas or Thiem
One of the top 4 is getting a huge break, with Monfils in their 8th instead of Cilic, Raonic or Coric
My difficult rating
1-2: relatively close
3-4: Nadal >> Anderson
5-8: Zvereve ~ Tsitsipas > Thiem >> Nishikori
9-12: Isner >> Medvedev > Fognini > Khachanov
13-16: Raonic > Cilic > Coric >> Monfils
17-24 threats: Alliasime, Berrettini
25-32 threats: Lopez, Shapovalov
Everyone down in the 13-16 category is a bit of a wildcard, depending on health and form.
It is on Eurosport, maybe BBC too!
Final WCs:2019 Wimbledon Championships - Men's Singles Wildcards:
1. Marcos Baghdatis (Cyp) #139
2. Jay Clarke (GB) #164
3. Paul Jubb (GB) #579 (2019 NCAA Singles Champion - not eligible for US Open WC as he isn't American)
4. James Ward (GB) #212
4 additional WC entries TBC

Also a little baffled - why hasn't last year's junior winner Tseng been given a WC into the men's draw, when the girls' champ from last year, Swiatek, has on the women's side? He's only got the WC into qualies...
Final WCs:
LOPEZ, Feliciano (ESP) #108
BAGHDATIS, Marcos (CYP) #130
CLARKE, Jay (GBR) #159
WARD, James (GBR) #169
KOEPFER, Dominik (GER) #170
JUBB, Paul (GBR) N/A
This final would be a dream for Fed fans, he would win it easily. The final will be Tsitsipas against Federer, mark my words.
Federer wins this. Nadal loses to a mug before 4th round.

The weather looks good especially the 1e week so he has a decent shotNadal has no chance. Two courts have roofs. Lol
Kyrgios to prove that grass is the only real tennis.
Djokovic demands roof be used the whole tournament so it will be doneThe weather looks good especially the 1e week so he has a decent shot
Sad, but he is tennis' Mr. Glass!!
If he pulls his shirt up any further, you'll see a clean join between the top and bottom halves of his torso. Humpty Nishikumpty (horses owned by the king have improved their skills involved in remedial works).
Ok, so 6 men's WCs and 3 women's. Last year there were 4 men's and 8 women's. Comparing that to RG 2019, they had 8 men and 8 women. I presume they won't just hand WCs out to make up 8 per draw just for the sake of it then? I know Wimbledon doesn't have a WC agreement with any of the other majors, so they won't give them to French, American or Aussie competitors.Final WCs:
