Consistent Big hitter with good athletic abilities and return = Answer to Novak' game

It may be, but I don't think that's the issue in this match so far.

He's having issues with his serve.

If he ever served this poorly against Murray in an AO final, Murray would have a title to his name as well.

WOW.

This match is reminding more and more of Federer meltdown in USO 2009.

Near invincible in set 1 and completely stubborn and put of it in others.

Because this is first time Djokovic is facing a decent young player. When you had 32+ Fed, Raos, nishis and Dimugs as your main rivals you may dominate. But be sure you'll be caught pants down once you faced youngster with real potential. Today is that day for Djokovic.

And post prime Nadal

When the likes of Zverev and Tsitsipas mature (because let's face it - they are already very good at 21/22 but will be even better) the big 3 can pack their bags.

All it takes at this point is for them to face one young guy who can go 5h with them and they are toast. Thiem can do it first.

The big 3 era is ending right in front of our eyes. The one last resort is Nadal at the FO but he's going down too, maybe even this year.

Novak is off the rails, but that also makes him unpredictable. My guess is he will be back in the fourth.

For me it's amazing to see how big the gap is between Nole's defensive level and his ability to attack.

Why, in your opinion @Hitman?

He is mentally all over the place, a zoning Djokovic doesn't get broken three straight times in the manner he was. He is thinking about the crowd, about the umpire, about Thiem, he is not concentrating his energy into what he needs to do, and that is his own game. Body language is looking horrible, slumping of shoulders, etc.

Djokovic, perhaps for the first time in his career post 2011, coming up against someone who is fitter and stronger than him? Giving him that same demoralisation he's given to so many others.
