Daniil leads the H2H 5-0, really really tough match for Rublev here.
I'd say Medvedev wins in two or three but interested to see what BWEH can do

I miss the old Cincy camera angle so much. With the sun blaring for a day match the court here gets so bright that it's hard to track the ball. When the angle was lower it was way easier to follow.

Great pass by Med this game but my god what an awful game from Rublev. This matchup is just like Berdych vs Djokovic or Nishikori vs Djokovic
Rublev will be lucky to have two or three wins vs Med in his entire career

Rublev is actually playing well yet he is down two breaks! Medvedev's defensive play is out of this world good lately. The past two weeks is the best I have seen him play, along with the very end of 2019, he's in peak form.

Really happy he got the insurance break - keep it going!!!

I know we say that for a lot of players these days, but it's particularly true of Rublev.

His peak level is surely closer to RBA or PCB than it is to Med, Zverev or Tsitsipas. He is in the tier 3 for me

That’s true but I feel Medvedev completely messes with his game in a way that no one else really does.

I think it's just a pretty simple offense vs defense issue. Medvedev gets the extra ball back, and Rublev's big ground game suffers under a large sample size when forced to constantly hit the extra shot.

Maybe there's something about Med's flat and lower paced ball that bothers him, but I'm not reading into it too much.
