Eh. He has to play beyond himself too much to stay competitive with Tsitsipas on clay and it's very difficult for him to sustain such a level. I expect way more from Meddy elsewhere. The difference in quality and consistency between Meddy's best on clay and off clay (more specifically hardcourts right now) is YUGE.

Considering most people had Medvedev losing in round 1, a competitive straight-sets loss in the quarterfinals against the second-most in-form clay player on the season (after Nadal, of course) is a pretty dang good result. Bolstered his chances at taking the number one ranking in the near future as well. All in all, a welcome Roland Garros campaign.

Well, since Rome, Novak's been ahead but over the course of the whole clay season Tsitsipas has clearly been the superior player. His only stumble was in Madrid – everywhere else he's taken care of business and only barely lost to Nadal and Djokovic. He's been tearing through his French Open draw with ease as well, and has yet to be down two sets to love against anyone.
