I know Nadal, Federer and Alcarats aren't playing so 98% of TTW users aren't interested, but we actually have an ATP 250 event with four Top 20 players in the semis (including two top 10s!). I think that's thread-worthy... when was the last time it even happened? And who do you assume will win it?

The 4 top seeded players going to hit it out in the semis - impressive! Given that this is a 250 it could well end in a another title for Ruud. Anyhow, special thanks to Rublev for taking care of the Zedrot trash.

Rooting for a Cerundolo title defence but his early strategy of losing serve about a million times a match while still winning in straight sets may come unstuck against a top 10 player with a strong serve in Rublev. The smart money would be on Ruud - this stuff is his bread and butter (bruud and butter?). Would love to see Musetti take him down though.

It's been a crapola returning exhibition in the first set of Rublev-Cerundolo. The Argentine has had the upper hand in neutral rallies and created the only break point opportunities of the set but couldn't make a return in the tiebreak and gave it away with a long forehand. Rublev has been pretty bad generally but has found big first serves when he's needed them.

One set all! Very compelling tiebreaker - Rublev was absolutely rock solid through the first eight points, leading by a mini-break, but flubbed an easy forehand to concede his advantage at 5-3. Cerundolo worked his way back in and held set point on his serve but double faulted it away. However, after a service winner to set up 8-7, he stole the mini-break through a Rublev error to take the set. Very enjoyable tennis at the minute.

Rublev takes the third set 6-3, and with it the match. The margins were razor thin until Rublev broke the Cerundolo serve at 3-3, and he sealed the match with some panache, swatting away several return winners to seal the double break. A very solid performance in which he played the big moments better and turned up his level at the end to clinch things. Entertaining match on the whole.

Andrey played really impressively to take this. His serving was phenomenal and he just kept hitting the lines. Ran away with it in the 1st set tie break and second set ended up a bagel.
Wow. What a thrashing after the tb win. Poor Ruud.

AR's 2nd title this year I think, after Monte Carlo. Well done to him.

Title #14 for Rublev (placing him 3rd in the list of current top 10 players), 8th at 250 level and 2nd this season (making him joint 4th with Tiafoe in number of titles won this season).

Just watched the highlights again. Rublev was sensational. His BH and FH were unplayable. Ruud was blown off the court. Brilliant from rublev. He’s playing the best tennis of his career right now.

Went to see the quarters and semis. Love that tournament. In the quarters, Musetti was once again very impressive in the two last sets after somehow losing the first. Such an entertaining player with great touch and flair for the game. I don't know why his forehand is critiqued so much on this forum. It's his main weapon and he can do a lot of damage with it. Needs to improve his serve if he wants to get into top 10, though. Ruud is an impressive athlete and his forehand is so heavy. Still, he just is boring to watch. Happy he lost the final to Rublev. Ruble vs Zverev was a bit of a letdown. Rublev was extremely focussed and kicked Zverev's butt badly. Zverev made error after error but clearly got his act together in Hamburg. Rublevs's forehand is great, but his backhand has improved a lot this year. His serve is underrated, it's lethal. Cerundula is fun to watch, so much power comes from him almost effortlessly, especially on his forehand. Beautiful shot. Serve is average, though.
It was my second time at Båstad (was there last year too) and I had a great time. Will most definitely be back in 2024. I hope Rune shows up. You should too.
