AAC Tennis
a new league and some interesting teams, but only a little league, they not even schedule all teams in regular season, but here are also travel reasons, 2 teams are in texas, 2 in florida, 2 in the border of Tennessee/Kentucky

1) Memphis is allways finding a good niche in between all the SEC-teams, can recruit some good people, they and Lville are the top of the league

2) Louisville, i put them only on 2, they ve struggled a little bit more vs lower teams, also they gave Oklahoma a good fight

3) USF, they ve a good team, Benneweis Pramming and Cid are talented, they even beat Texas Tech , the recent loss to San Diego hurts

4) UCF, also decent team, their close win vs Miami and their easy loss vs indiana scares me a little bit

5) SMU; they ve a real downyear, the good years are over, they are chanceless vs ranked teams, even in the lower H-E-B-Tournament they lost 2 matches. They had good teams in the past, but something changed. Johan Brunstrom was outstanding in the past.

6) Temple, i did not even know there is a team...i do not even know their german players....are they even giving scholarships?

Watch out for UCONN in upcoming years. Heard they are getting scholarships in upcoming years and are lead by up and coming coach with great potential

Memphis takes the dubs point over South Florida and is up an early break on a few singles courts.

Memphis up 2-1 and they lead 4-1 in the 3rd at 4 and 3-0 in the 3rd at 6.

Memphis wins 4-3. Won dubs 2-1. Had match point on #2 but lost it. Match points down in the breaker at #1, came back and won. Memphis clinched with wins at 2,3 and 4 to go up 4-1 before they played out and lost 1 and 6 in the 3rd sets. USF is a good team and very young. Cid is a solid #1 who handles pace and passes well. Watch out for Sasha Gozun over the next few years, big kid, bigger game. Memphis impressive and composed today under tough pressure.

Interesting about the seeding for the conference tournament:

"The Tigers now wait to see if the win over USF and this weekend's earlier win over UCF is enough to vault the Tigers over the Bulls in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. Tournament seeding for the American Athletic Conference championships is based solely on the ITA rankings, so Memphis could still be the two seed for next weekend's tournament despite today's 4-3 win over USF. With seven conference teams sponsoring men's tennis, the tournament's No. 1 seed gets a first round by and starts play in the semifinals on Saturday. The No. 2 seed will open in play on Friday. Memphis won the conference championship (as a member of Conference USA) last season as the No. 2 seed in the tournament"

So based off this Memphis will be the #1 seed, South Florida #2, Louisville #3, Central Florida #4, SMU #5, Temple #6, UConn #7.

The Atlantic 10 was the same way - VCU played 1 conference match and it was against Richmond

I find it hard to imagine how the rankings would not move Memphis ahead of USF .

Louisville only played Memphis out of those teams. How is this a conference?

Many conferences don't have a mandatory conference schedule. Geographically, does it really make sense for all the East coast teams to have to play home and home with SMU?

USF gets the title. What a great season for them

I was there yesterday and watched USF win the title over Memphis. Also watched the match from the previous Sunday when Memphis beat USF. Couldn't have two more evenly matched teams. Both last week and this weeks match could have gone either way. More so yesterday's match. Same lineups two weeks in a row. USF was a little better yesterday. Memphis won a couple of matches they lost last week, #5 singles and #2 doubles. USF won a couple of matches they lost last week #2 and #3 singles, that was the difference.

Both teams will be a very strong #2 seed.

Odd detail of the AAC weekend (to me anyway) is that supposedly USF stayed in Memphis the entire week after they played UofM last Sunday.
