If it starts raining at any point in the match and they will have to close the roof, will they play the whole match under it or will they open it if the conditions get better?

I believe that once they close the roof, it has to stay closed for the remainder of the match.

Just what Roger needed.. Sigh.

He had no chance anyways. This much Will be obvious within the first 15 minutes. Roger Getting to deuce not breaking. Roger gettig to 30-0 but broken. Happens Every ****in time.

Let's give Rafa some credit. That doesn't just happen to Federer. We see that often with other players facing Rafa.

Fred needs to set a blistering pace if he has any chances of winning.

That said, it will be tough for the nadal considering he is suffering from blisters, bunions, carbuncles, cysts, fissures, hemorrhoids, piles, scabies, nappy rash and even pimples.

HAHAHAHA. Yes, Nadal is like a traveling exhibit of the Museum of Cutaneous History. That being said, I think some people are going to have a rash quite soon because of him.

The tough wins against Nishikori and Dimitrov just make Rafa's mental resolve even stronger. Tough wins like those help him much more than a roll over of an opponent. He's got a lot to draw from, like how to dig deep and how not to lose heart, no matter how much on the back foot he appears to be.

why does he always end up on the back foot to start with with these types of players?why doesnt he just brush them aside with greatness?

Voted Nadal in 4. Pragmatic, but really hoping for a 5 set-thriller.

Haven't seen a real Fedal classic since AO 2009 final...

He was obviously hampered by the blisters on his hand so he couldn't control his service games with his serve. Nishikori played above his usual level, all credit to him, he had done his homework.

I love watching Nadal roll over players, but at the end of the day, he improves only because he doesn't roll over everybody all of the time. Players tend to generate more adrenalin against Rafa, because his is a big scalp to take, more than any other current player.

After their match, Dimi said, in his press conference, that Nadal is not one of the greats, he is the greatest.

The last time there was a Fedal match in OZ, Roger was going for his 14th slam title; this time Rafa is hoping to win his 14th slam title.

Fed had 16 slams and the last time they played Down Under was in 2012.

I think its time for me to vote on this poll before the match starts. Tough call to make given their contrasting performances but despite everything pointing to Federer causing an upset, im still gonna say that Nadal wins in 4.

'Federer in 4' leads the poll.

Roger's the favourite.

I hope my boy Rafa can fight against the odds and upset the marauding Swiss.

I just hope that Nadal can play a few decently competitive points and perhaps win a game or two per set - that would be the best case scenario for Nadal.

Just wondering what Matt Willander says about this match...

Is it worth knowing. I find Mats so annoying. He'll obviously be bigging Federer up like he always does especially against Nadal and his reasons usually defy rational.

Not raining, but it looks like the organizers are expecting rain because the roof is mostly closed right now.
