AO potential seeding ...

When are the seeds determined - before or after lead up tournaments ?

Outcome of Doha, Brisbane, Auckland and somewhat Sydney might determine some significant seeding situations. Like being out of top 16 seeds.

My understanding is if one is seeded 16 or better - he can not meet 16 or better before 4th round.

8th seed - nobody higher ranked before 1/4 round (round 5).

If it is based on current rankings - marquee matches could be in the round 4. Murray-Nadal, Djokovic-Federer or Federer-Murray and Djokovic-Nadal.

After Brisbane, Doha and that Indian event.

The draw will be done during Sydney and Auckland, so results there won’t have a bearing on seeding

Novak Djokovic could face another of the big guns early on in this tournament.

A 6-time champ lurking, ready to pounce, and hungry for success after an enforced absence.

What could be worse for Federer, the GOAT, and Nadal?

What could be worse for Novak than facing the GOAT?

As a Nadal fan, I was absolutely disgusted with the cupcake draw at USO and all the flak he is taking because of that.

I want him to have the hardest road possible at the AO to make amends for that. Throw Kyrgios , Dmitrov, Djokovic , Zverev in his draw

I don't think either Fed or Rafa would have any trouble defeating Novak at the AO. He almost certainly won't be ready to win a slam until the FO. I think the people predicting an AO win for him are insanely optimistic.

I don't think Djokovic is a real threat to win it all but I am sure that nobody of the top guys would be happy to have him, Raonic, Murray or Nishikori in third or fourth round.

Murray might drop out of top 16 with bad showing in Brisbane which is loaded (Nadal, Raonic, Dimitrov, Nishikori, Kyrgios). Hard to defend 150 points from last year runner up in Doha.

I don't think any of the top guys will be concerned about seeing Raonic or Nishikori on their side of the draw.

Djokovic is always dangerous. Federer missed 8 months of the 2016 season due to having knee surgery. And despite being 35, he won the AO. Djokovic is only 30 and didn't have surgery. I definitely would not rule Nole out. As a Fed fan, I am nervous about Djokovic. He's the only guy that has really stopped Federer since 2014.

It's also possible that a big server comes in and stops Djoker as well. If Djoker faces somebody like a Querrey or Kyrgios, he could get taken out before running into Federer or Nadal.

I'm still not so confident that this version of Fed can beat Djokovic in a slam event. Federer, as good as he is, might be too old and slow to handle Djokovic. I really hope that I am wrong.

Impostor, actually you are disgusted by the fact that Rafa, whom you hate, won his 16th GS title and your beloved one wasn't capabale of going through this "cupcake" draw:
