Are Djokovics chances for winning all 4 slams in one season better than 2015?

So, can he do it? Winning all 4 slams in one season?

I think his chances are better now. He is playing the best tennis of his life. His serve is so much better than before that he seems nearly unbeatable.

Who could spoil the party? Raonic? Murray? Wawrinka?

he should be the huge favorite in every important match he plays this year. Who knows what will actually happen but that's all you can ask for at this stage in the year.

IF he gets past Raonic in the final of this AO. Yes, I'm a Murray fan, but something tells me Raonic is ready to make his move. Hair gel and all:)

Raonic looks like he might break through this year for a major win. Very impressed with his AO performance so far.

Whereas Federer always had Nadal blocking him at the French Djokovic doesn't have an equivalent so his chances are better than Fed's were in his best years.

I think the chances are the same as last year.

Murray is improving on clay and I think will be a threat at RG. I'm not sure about Nadal.

Federer is always a threat at Wimby.

The USO is similar to AO for me, difficult to see past a Djokovic/Murray final at this stage, with Djokovic edging it.

In many ways he should have done it last year, but a superhuman effort by Wawrinka stopped it. I think this year it's going to need an opponent to raise their level in a way that Wawrinka did at RG to stop him, which has happened so who knows.

I don't see how people could overrate Murray so much. He has not even scored a win against big 3 at a slam for years.

His chances aren't different. The reason it seems different is because we still had to witness 2015 at this point last year and he hadn't had a multi-slam season since 2011, so after the AO 2015 there wasn't any talk of it yet. However, I don't think there's any difference competition- or levelwise this year. He is probably the favourite at every slam, but he still needs to win RG. Last year he seemed destined to after crushing Rafa and beating Murray in 5, but then out of nowhere came Wawrinka again. Stuff like that can always happen, this year as well. As CYGS said, he still has to win this final to start with, and then there's three more majors to go which are all still far away, and much can happen in that period.

People always talk like winning all four in one season is some sort of given when a player is dominating. Seen it with Fed, even seen it with Rafa to some extent. And the best example: Serena last year, where she just couldn't mess up. She surprisingly lost a SF at the US Open.

It's always easy to look at it from behind a computer, but there is more to it than just current form, odds and everything. Even if he gets the chance, who knows what the pressure of being so close to doing it will bring? Again, saw it with Serena, and if anyone's had it easy, it was her last year.

Who do you think is Djokovic's greatest threat then?

I don't think anyone is overrating Murray at all, I just think of the other contenders, he seems the most likely.

And Murray did just win the DC pretty much single handedly, playing both singles and doubles on 3 different surfaces without losing a single rubber. He is pretty good.

He is not. Even Nadal can beat him very easily. Federer and Wawrinka are legitimate threats. Murray is not.

Haha, ok, so I'm guessing you don't like Murray. That's fine.

Well I shall enjoy watching the Nadal/Wawrinka AO semi....oh no wait, they both got knocked out already.

His best chance was in 2011.

It is an uphill battle now.

He will not do it.

Sign. Big seal. Locked.

Depends.

2016 might be an easier year, assuming novak maintains his level. Stan/Fed/Murray are not getting any younger and may even be declining this year.

its just not likely.

its incredibly difficult, novak needs good draws in all 4 slams to have a good chance.

Djokovic turns 30 next year. He needs to bag as many Slams as he can now. I'll be happy if he wins 2, elated if he wins 3.

i think they are better for one simple reason. in 2015 the previous (2014) year wasnt nearly as impressive as this time around. so based on that alone id say he has better chances than he had at the start of the previous year.

we shall see.

He's a year older and the 95-96 generation is coming round.

I think Wimbledon or USO will see him falter.

Let him first win AO for that lol..I don't think it is possible. Would be extremely difficult to keep up the consistency with which he plays for the second year running. He may win a slam or two. But all four in this year, no..

Yes, as long as the weak era continues. Djokovic can join Everson in bagging slams against weak and past prime players.

I don't think he will do it, but it obviously isn't impossible if he wins here. What my gut is telling me now is he wins the Aussie and French this year, but someone gets him at Wimbledon (could be Federer, could be someone else, wont be Stan or Nadal that is for sure). The U.S Open I am 50/50 on. So I think he wins 2 or 3 with the Aussie and French.

The haters of everyone of Sampras, Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, Laver, Connors, Borg, claim they have weak competition. The fans of each meanwhile try to elevate their greatness beyond their achievements due to "competition". Djokovic fans say 10 slams for him is better than 20 for Federer since Federer faced so called mugs Hewitt and Roddick. Federer fans say 40 slams for Djokovic will never match up to Federer since he rules weak era where 30 something year old Federer and mugs like Murray and Wawrinka are winning slams and making finals.

Emerson is in another category since the competition wasn't even there (they were mostly pro and banned from slams). So called weak competition (subjective views which can never be proven and are mostly rooted in biases anyway) is very different from the competition not even being there.

CYGS talk can only be discussed when he wins the FO imo, he'll win the AO but that's just 1 slam and Novak will always have the toughest time trying to win the FO. If he wins that then he's 2/4 done where legit discussions can be made. Mind you even if he wins the FO, it's going to be very, VERY, emotional for him so there's always a big chance he can crash out in some early rounds at Wimbledon, people always forget this but I'm not sure if he can come back down to earth if he does win the FO and there isn't a big time gap between FO and Wimbledon...CYGS pressure is probably the biggest thing to overcome.

He needs to win the first 2 slams first, which hasn't been done since the 1990s I think. Don't get me wrong, he has a shot but the FO will be the biggest step he'll need to overcome, there's many mental demons out there that needs to be conquered.

LMAO seeing people actually writing Nadal will win the Rolland Garros.

There are bigger chances to see Hungary win the Euro in France.

Sure maybe if he runs into some guy serving out of his mind on court 1 during the 4R/quarters or early in the tournament when the grass is not pathetically slow...maybe. Federer has zero shot. Murray would have a chance but he will be in no mental state to do anything as usual. Looking good for Novak.
