Saw him at the AO 2013 in a 1st round loss. As he was coming off the court, some people in the crowd were shouting for an autograph. He just turns around, looks at them, and spits on the ground. Then walks away. Should have seen some of the kids faces. Man, it was so ratsh1t. Never liked him after that.

He is so unimportant though that I've never heard about this. Imagine Kyrgios would do a thing like this

Man, disappointed with Grigor. Might be the slow surface but he really cooled down after that excellent start into this season. I hope he goes all in in Wimbledon. Anything less than a Semifinal would be back to the old Dimitrov again.

I think you people expects too much from Dimitrov. He is a fast and low-medium bounce kind of player. Miami ain't high bouncing as Indian Wells, but is too slow for him to employ first strike tennis with his forehand as much as he needs (and for making his backhand mildly decent). What matters for him is the new faster AO session, indoor tournaments, grass court session, Cincinnati and maybe other events in summer in North America.
His defeat to a weak Nadal at AO was worse than these two last defeats IMO.

I saw it in person. I doubt even anyone else on this forum knew about it. Maybe it was a one-off, maybe he's changed, but it's still clear in my memory bank. Not even sure if the match was televised. Did they televise all the courts back in 2013? Can't remember.

Bottom draw is terrible. Nishikori would not meet a top 20 players till the SF. In the other half you have Nadal, Sock and Raonic and Milos is probably not 100%. I guess this is what you get when three top 10 players are out from the draw.

Just saw the Kohlschreiber comeback against Fritz.

Gotta give it to Kohly. Such a complete player, beautiful strokes, aggressive mindset - and a nice guy it seems :)

Fritz served for the match twice. Poor handshake at the end, couldn´t deal with his disappointment.

I have a similar experience after a Dustin Brown match, never seen anything like it and so difficult to like him after that. Despicable.

Although Sewretch has an insatiable appetite, I doubt he would devour deux baguettes quite like Gilles just did!

He's became so used to dishing out bagels thay he opened up his own store

Me too. I went to see him play. He has a dark very unpleasant side that can put you off. So disappointed. Remember my girlfriend called him Dustbin Brown after that.
That's a pity about Dustin Brown. It could be that he had some bad experience with fans and made him behave like that. I remember reading an article where German spectators said some kind of **** slur towards him.

When people get angry usually something bad or unpleasant happens to them.

Many player have some bad experiences with fans, but still dont behave like that. I dont think that is an excuse.

6/16 seeds survive R2 from bottom half. Pretty pathetic performance :(
Expect more seeds from the top half to crumble in R2. Lopez, Isner, Karlovic, Ferrer, Querrey, Bautista Agut, Berdych, Muller, Lorenzi all have chances of going out imo.

It shouldn't be an excuse of course. But there may be other deeper problems in their life that makes them behave like that. Not everybody is an angel or a Pope.

I always find it interesting to find out what causes people to behave in certain way. For example, Jelena Dokic's father. A lot of people from his country suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from the war. PTSD is such a monster and shouldn't be handled lightly. A lot of people suffering PTSD commit suicide.

Dustin Brown, as I understand it, often receives racial abuse in Germany. My neighbour is a refugee and he often gets the same treatment at school. I hardly see him smile and it is very sad to see a little kid that should be happy enjoying life is morose and feeling sad all the time.

Bullying is not to be taken lightly. It is a matter of life and death. I am serious.

I find it interesting and rewarding to try to understand people, to feel their suffering. Not all people are thick skinned. Some people can be very sensitive, and it is important to approach this kind of people carefully.

Dustin Brown is a very popular and liked player. He gets a lot of positive attention! he is more popular than other players on his level. I dont get the racist thing.

My top 3 picks:
1. Thiem
2. Nishikori
3. Nadal
4. A. Zverev

Fed won't win this. He's going to be smart and conserve himself. He needs to get back to Europe early and rest.

He's not really planning on playing much during the clay court season, so I really don't see how losing her benefits him in anyway. Also, Fed does not take matches or strategically lose matches... If he gets beat, it's a legitimate loss.

Rafa vs Kohli on Sunday will be a HIGHLIGHT match. I think Kohli is overdue for a win over Rafa and now is the moment.

He almost lost to Fritz though, had to pull off the Houdini act to rally from 2-5 down in the final set. Rafa won't be any easier for him. I think he gets beaten in straight sets.

What happened with the Sock/Nishioka match? I saw Nishioka retired, but he was up 4-2 in the opening set?? o_O

I know many people in the tennis world like him. But perhaps not outside tennis. I am sure I read a long article about him that he often receives racial abuse in Germany, not while playing tennis but when going about his daily life.

I should find that article if I can find it.

But this is one about racial slur he received during a practice session:
http://www.**************.org/news/news/Tennis_Stories/24411/racist-insults-for-dustin-brown/

More articles:

"Where I grew up in the north of Germany, I experienced a lot of problems with racism," said Brown.

It's staggering to me that that is still a thing in society today...

I heard a black futbol player on a sports documentary say that he was verbally abused in similar ways while playing for a European club. He said that people from the crowd yelled racist comments and insults at him during matches, he even said he was called a "dirty monkey" a number of times by racist fans. :(

People go through different problems in life. He is still more poplar in general than other players on his level. Andy Murray playing Federer in front of his home crowd and Federer gets more support. Incredible nasty crowd at US open towards Novak when playing Federer. This stuff happens all the time. I have met Serena Williams who has been experiencing racism, but she is the sweetest person if you meet her, no judgement from her at all. There is good and bad people everywhere and it has nothing to do about race.

I think DIM after a meteoric entry to the sport, where he was given the Names of 'Baby Fed' and 'Young Artist' clearly created a stir and he APPEARED to have some talent.

However sadly for his fan his inconsistency is consistent.

RaoMug without the talent IMHO.

Still what do I know ! LOL ! Time to re-boot the Lost Boys Thread.
see if anyone else has any ideas...

I'm surprised you are so naive BD.

Human nature does not change in a 1000 years never mind a 100.

Political correctness has a lot to answer for, for just forcing this kind of unpleasant 'stuff' 'underground '. People just hopefully assume 'it's' all just gone away, and people know better.

You only have to look at the HATE! in this place !

Still, the Bin Man Bum Murray deserves it, doesn't he, the stupid miserable whining Scottish useless loser !
With a talent-less Brother. 'They're' just RUBBISH ! :mad::mad::mad:....

See what I mean ...

Revisionist history...he stayed in form through his Sofia title at the expense of Prince George Joffrey McFly but tired of his winning ways vs the Prince Regent in Rotterdam. That's when it got complex for The Young Artist Gricasso, just like Big BerdPoo hasn't been the same since the Vile Prince force fed him twin bagels in Rome last spring. We can call it the Goofin Law...once whipped by the King of mid-tournament rounds, you become a POS for quite a spell!

This goes to show that a lot of these players don't like losing. I'm sure Pella and Dustbin aren't spitting mad all the time.

You can see some real kooks. A local top player got angry and climbed a 12 foot fence in middle of match to get a ball (typical behavior). That guy was psychotic and crazy on the court.o_O

I'm not sure I get the practice session insult; just off the wall. In Germany in his neighborhood that might have one context, in another setting its more of an insult towards a German. Skinheads and their ilk are pretty laughable intellectually; rather pitiful group.

The internet betting trolls are infamous and will say whatever they can dream up to hurt the cause of their financial pain the most (Dreddy in this case). They should be ignored; anything else is just throwing gasoline onto their pathetic fires.

These football fan clowns in Europe and really everywhere are completely over the top. They are so rabid they will say anything to get under the oppositions skin. Similar psychology to the bettors I expect. Given this rich history:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_hooliganism

its not surprising.

Should Lucas Pouille retire? Losing 2 straight times to Donald "Duck" Young? I mean that's seriously humiliating stuff. Didn't Donald Young start out 0-16 in his ATP career? Roger must be feeling bad now after that December training block with Lucas, nothing rubbed off.

As much as we clown on Young most of career, he's actually looked better and showing results this year. I guess too much pressure during his teen years, since he was hyped as the next great American tennis player but never panned out that way

Hi:
I really need a big help with match schedule and tv live broadcast time. In last Indian wells, match time in my local time are clear from google either by tournament keyword or by player's name. The time is perfect clear and I know which match go live. On contrary, this Miami atp is a nightmare. The match time don't make any sense. I know there are a lot rain delay. But the initial match time is clearly wrong. For example, rgerer's match displayed one hour before the live match on cable tv. I tried to use live match to match google match list and failed too. Can some one tell me what went wrong and what to do please?
