Baseline pushers ?

A Pusher is a player like Simon.

Murray and Djokovic build the point up, and go for winners when they are ready.

Don't know. For me they're all pusher in various degrees. Nothing wrong with it, I mean it's effective on these slow courts.

Problem is that this is the only play they know.

I would say Djolovic is an aggressive baseliner. He wins most points from baseline but he puts constant pressure on the opponent from there.

Murray is a counter puncher who loves to retrieve, pass and lob. I have been watching him since he first broke out at a young age. I think the reason he ends up too passive is that he simply can not forgive himself for making an error.

Yes, that's logical anyway seeing Fed won't have snowball's chance in hell.

Murray has okay chance vs Djokovic. Not great but he had best chance anyway followed by Stan.
Murray has more than okay chance with Fed if he can get past very very physically demanding Djokovic match but Murray is not set to reach final yet.

Damn, I miss this, Novak was so ahead of field.

Either you admit that the field caught up, or that it was a weak era all along (still is) and Djokovic simply declined.
I don't know what you wanted me to say here. Novak was bullying Roger, just returnning Rafa and even his real threat at that time Andy. He is not playing well and Roger and Rafa are at no.1 and 2. Don't know how him being so far ahead of Roger/just returning Rafa make the field strong or weak.

Roger and Rafa are only number 1 and 2 because the field is weak. In a stronger field they most likely would have been pushed out by better young players.

Wow, I was sure it was going to be beatdown city. Roger saved face in the end, but still a beatdown.

I was really angry at Fedfans talking smack about Murray on comeback and how the near death Murray was beaten at WTF by Federer.
Federer did toy with him in Wimby but Andy was not too bad in that match. Would have loved to see how he would have fared vs Andy in AO16.

Andy did finally become no.1, getting to 3 slam finals and winning Wimbledon again, so there was some proof in the end.

It was a weak era and still is. But I wouldn't say Djoko has declined. It's probably more that he's not as interested anymore and seem to have too much other stuff going on outside tennis to focus 100% on training and winning matches.

Peakovic was unstoppable.

Hopefully we can see a glimpse of this again!

2 sets of near perfection from Djokovic. Would have been classed as a comprehensive beatdown but Federer fought back and raised his game in sets 3 & 4. And now suddenly he’s won the last 2 Australian Opens.
