Biggest Comeback After >6 Months Absence?

That's a very benevolent interpretation of consistently taking longer time, whenever the match/set/game is tight... 35 seconds down BP is common place. 40 seconds is not uncommon at all either.
Also, notice how quick he played at the US once he saw Delpo was fatigued. If the that doesn't prove it's mainly tactics from his side, I don't know what it takes to convince you guys.

What impresses me even more, is his ability to make the server wait for him, without getting called for it. So humble, so cunning!

This is just patently false and utterly absurd.

When Fed came back to the tour in 2017, here is what he did in his first three tournaments: he won the AO, then the Sunshine Double for 4,000 points.

When Nadal came back in 2013, here is what he did in his first three tournaments: he lost in the final of a 250 event in Chile, then won a 250 in São Paulo and a 500 event in Acapulco for a grand total of 850 points.

Case closed.
Federer did not utterly dominate the tour, crushing all competition and becoming #1 by country mile, holding it for 9 months.

Rafa came back from real injury Fred was just resting.

This is utter rubbish. Federer actually had surgery, which Nadal did not to my recollection. He then rushed back from surgery too early and had to take time off to rehibilitate the knee more which hadn't recovered. Federer played something like 56 consecutive slams, he was not in the habbit of missing slams and 6 months just for rest.

Besides, he comeback was immediately more successful

Fed's surgery was nothing to do with tennis just as Rafa's Appendectomy was nothing to do with tennis.

He didn't get the injury playing tennis, but playing tennis too soon after surgery made it worse and forced him out for 6 months. When he came back he won his first event which was a slame. Nadal didn't have surgery and was ready to play much earlier but probably didn't bother trying to come back in the hardcout season, claimed he had a virus before Australia (not an injury) and came back losing in a 250 on clay. Really he was fit to play earlier and decided to come back on clay since it was easiest but he still took time to get going.

I don't know about you, but I'm very happy with Rafa's achievements, my only regret is the number of times he has been unable to play because of injury. Federer has no such issues so I don't know why his fans are so unfulfilled. Federer has achieved a lot you don't need the "my dad's car is bigger than your dad's car" playground banter.

We are satisfied with his achievements too.

You're just backtracking because you have been called out and rightfully so.

Rafa came back from real injury Fred was just resting.
What people are missing is the fact that Fred just took time off to rest nothing to do with injury.
Fed has taken 6 months off once in his entire career and it was simply to rest.
Hahahahahaha, Rafa's been "injured" so many times yet he never ever needed surgery. You're buying that? Of course you are. Rose-tinted and all :D:rolleyes:
Fed's surgery was nothing to do with tennis just as Rafa's Appendectomy was nothing to do with tennis.
ahahaha. You do need a healthy knee to play tennis. You don't need your appendix. That's the difference.

You know I meant "slam" lol

Rafa has achieved an incredible amount and leads the world of tennis in several aspects. Weren't you the one that said you'd be disappointed if he won "only" 4 slams in the next 4 years, despite this being around the number that he's won in the previous 4 years? You really don't sound content at all, and moaning about injuries is standard bad loser mentality.

Funny that you talk about my dad has a bigger car arguments when you're essentially saying the same by complaining Nadal's had injuries. We all know Rafa is a medical marvel when he outgrinds his opponents, not lucky genentics just him being amazing, but when Federer gets injured less it IS lucky genetics. More hypocrisy. Nadal has to destroy himself to win.

I was more than happy with what Federer had done even 5 years ago. This thread is about comebacks from injury and comparing them. Thus Nadal undoubtedly had the overall better year when he came back in 2013, Federer had the more immediate return to form. There's no point denying either statement. What exactly don't you get?

Called out for what? Fred took 6 months off to rest because he wanted his own comeback story.

lmao, you've lost the plot. So basically Federer could have started this winning form when, at the USO 2016? Was his loss at Wimbledon a tank to set up the comeback?

hey TrollQueen,

Fed's 2017 comeback >> nadal's 2013 comeback.(given their respective ages)

burns you big time , doesn't it ? :D

deal with it.

acceptance is first step towards recovery.

someone dishonest and making up fake stuff like you should be fired 100 times over, btw.

>>> nadal took a 6 month break in 2012 only because he was crushed at losing to a 100+ ranked player in Rosol at Wimbledon.o_O

Gotta be Kim Clijsters. Retired in 2007, returns almost 2 years later during which she gave birth to her daughter. Comes back as a wildcard and wins the 2009 US Open. Insane.

In 2010 she wins: Brisbane. Miami, Cincy, US Open again and the tour finals. 2011 she wins the Australian Open and gets back to number 1.

Incredible really.

The 'New User' has made yet another comeback...

Your post is off topic. Was rafa missing AO2013 a good move or a bad move in your opinion? What would be the point of rafa getting a beat down at AO? Missing it was great move IMO. Rafa missing indian wells and Miami is also great move. Why take a beat down?
