I posted an instagram that has the pics but my comment got deleted…sad
Okay that looks better than the descriptions made it sound like it would look. Still not the black and gold beauty it should be but whatever. This seems like a cool PJ for a special edition and they should have made the normal PJ more classic

It is very unique I must say, very different to what we’ve seen on the market. When they gradually update all their racket lines to this style of paint I think they’ll look very good. Not to mention the pros will get the glossy versions so it will look super nice on TV.

If that's accurate, I've got to say I'm not a fan. The V7 is so sleek-this is something else. I'll need to see it moving around.

I actually really like it where it in that one picture where it looks mostly bronze/copper, it's when the green comes through too that I'm really not sure I'm a fan. Will need to see more of it for sure though.

No way, that hypercolor thing can't be the v8 Blade! You cannot be serious!!!
Oh wow. That is ugly.

Maybe its just a Blade Fast and Furious special edition.
-i can confirm!!, that is the new V8!!
-it does look better in person, IMO
-it does change colors as you move it, so the color goes from copper to shimmering green

Head Boom? I read in another thread about an isometric Head racquet.

Thats the one. The Alex Bolt thread has more pictures of the prototype and details. The head rep is in the thread too and comments that the cat is out of the bag. Looks like a 98 sq inch gravity with a 16x19 string pattern. All black with blue writing supposedly for the cosmetic. If the RA is 60-62, I’m in.

Whoa.. I actually love the color o_O
Hopefully the specs aren't to far from the V7.
I think the V7 specs are great already
blade specs rarely change guys... only RA moves around..and ohhh sorry 304gr went to 305gr and then they will move the balance 0.5pts back and forth.. hah.. as if Wilson nails those things... the official spec changes are quarter of the noise from QC.... anyways.. the key is feel flex a bit... i liked it. some people hate it. It seems to me most likely feel flex is out...higher RA and it will get the raw power some are looking for. To my v7 is better on paper if that is the case... all theories...

I tell you though, if Wilson can’t stock the v7 grommets I will probably have to switch. Delayed month after month after month.

I’ve strung the new v8 Blades and feel that the grommets are the same in both the v7 and v8.

That’s good, it’s just the v7 grommets have been pushed back month after month and o have a racquet that really needs some new grommets lol. It says August and I’m hoping it sticks.

We've experienced trouble getting grommet availability from multiple manufacturers at our pro shop. No explanation from the reps why.

- the wilson rep. said that the grommets for the v8s are now biodegradable and/or recyclable
-i forget exactly which, but i thought it was neat!!
-wilson has been on a "green" kick lately, which i do not mind at all!!

I really need to hear the specs on this racquet before going all in.... I need more information!
As someone mentioned, specs won’t change much. Expect the same. 2 things change with the blade every release: Paintjob and most importantly, Technology. That can make or break the blade for every player and it’s subjective (feel).

Honestly it can apply to any line and any brand of racquet but with the Blade it’s a very radical (no pun intended) change. I do love though how accurate they label every technology.

v5: amplifeel. Yeah you could feel the ball, a lot
v6: counterveil. Mute feel? Yup, gone.
v7: feelflex: you want some feel but also really soft and flexible? You got it.
v8: QualitycontrolFlex, fingers crossed.

Side note:
We can drag Wilson for their QC but they really do deliver great, solid racquets for the regular player that are really stable stock form.

They do. And the majority of the public doesn’t feel the minor details like a 32.5 unstrung balance versus a 32.0 unstrung balance like many on this forum and advanced players do, so QC isn’t a big deal among the public. I see many beginners-intermediates owning 3-4 unmatched racquets without a care in the world.

We are getting a Wilson ambassador tomorrow coming to my academy with Blades and Blade Pros so I’ll update on how that works. It does seem like they will release the Blade Pro with an updated color way as well.

Are the V7 blade likely to be on clearance soon then? I see theres a few that have got the RG edition. I haven't hit with a blade since the one released Dec 2014 (18x20) I found it felt very similar it my youtek prestige mp at the time. I saw the V7 version get good feedback, I was happier with the 320 weigh but not so happy about the balance and heard it felt heavy to swing. I guess I have to try it to be sure of course.

Blade of any generation vs Prestige are totally different in specs, feel, balance, so I disagree that they play similarly

Actually, not in this case. The youtek prestige MP had a similiar feel to the 2015 blade. But generally yeah they are different

I love mine. Didn’t pay for the matching service (bought them a year apart), but they both came out to 4 pts headlight for balance. Static weight strung - 11.15 oz and 11.2 oz, but this was done in a sloppy way at my local pro shop on a small digital scale trying to balance on Wilson buttcaps (not easy). The balance point I’m confident about though. The rackets are whippier than you’d expect, and I just love the way a 2 handed backhand feels on this racquet.

I can only speak for that version, I know that nearly every British tour player seemed to be using the blade and I don't recall seeing more than prestige and the guy using that was a German playing as a guest in one of the events. This was a couple of summers ago but the Blade seems to have a following. I have an ultra pro that I haven't managed to string up yet but I do hear that is similar to the prestige mp in that it is a little underpowered but you have to lead it up to get the best from it, but @ 305g and balanced was a good platform stick, the V7 Blade 18x20 I assume could be tweaked by adding weight to the handle of the balance was too much coming from a prestige, swingweight comes in too I guess with adding weight and maneuverability.

Disagree, respectfully, again that the YT or any Prestige and 2015 Blade are similar. Way more control and feel in the Prestige than the head heavy blade. As sweet as the 2015 Blade line was, Prestige had a more classic feel.

Blades are headlight.
