Am I the only one who isn't a fan of this paint job? Maybe it is better in person like the latest Gravity & Yonex VCORE PJ's, but I get the feeling we will look back at this in a few years time and think what the hell were Wilson thinking.

Same. I’m a huge fan of the v7-bright green on black or gray is one of my favorite color schemes. This one is just kind of…huh?!

Ok guys enough about the cosmetic. Tell us about Ra and power levels!! V7 was unnecessary hard to generate power for the recreational level.

I like the feel of the blade but not the lack of spec consistency and the amount of weight concentrated in the head. This all changed around when the black and gold version was discontinued.

-it definitely not a pretty, upbeat color
-it has a dark theme to it
-i'm hoping the feel makes up for the lack of colors

A Wilson rep was at a local tourny I played in this weekend and he had the Blade v8. Really nice paint job especially in the sunlight. He wasn't letting anyone demo the frame or even take a photo though. The guy seemed to know stuff about some of the gimmicks of the frame like how the grommets/ headguard and buttcap are biodegradable as they are made out of bean curd. However when I took out my 2013 Blade 18x20 he had no idea what version it was.

Wish I could have demo'd it---I'm curious as to how it feels side by side with my 2013 Blade.

If he didn’t know the 2013 blade then his opinion doesn’t count. He is essentially worthless

Its not just this rep. Whole Wilson team are like that. Only counting money. Sorry to say that because they have great products. Just a bit too greedy.
High prices ? Ok. Most brands set the prices quite high. Quality control is the biggest issue but also i have a problem with their coaching/pro team system.

in general it works like this in coaching:

you as a coach get discount but you need to sell products. If you bring „x” money to the brand after 1 year or 2 then you get free racquets and a bag.
With Wilson you need to „know the guy” or work very closely with the tennis shop to get the deal.
Doesnt matter if you can sell them the amount they seek.

I was once offered a deal. The discounts were the lowest from all the brands i know + you dont get free racquets even if you sell them 20 frames in 1 year. Nothing. Strings were pretty much at the same price as in shop. Ahh and free shipping from 270 USD where in casual shop its around 130 USD. They rised it on purpose to get more money and suddenly the discount is pretty much the same you can get during grand slams.

I find it quite offensive and disrespectful to coaching society.

whatever you do, at least make it fair and transparent. Dont try to push the fake discount.

That is incorrect IMO. I had a hard time controlling it at times and I am 3.5-4.0
It felt a lot easier to generate power, not sure about number or anything but it sure felt easier.
I attribute it to the extra gram and swingweight/more polarized weight distribution. While the stiffness is lower, it crushes the ball due to the mass in the head and the swingweight. That’s what the blade and other 305 gram racquets do so well.

it is terrible. That’s why I didn’t accept my contract this year. And you don’t have access to all of the product either. I asked if I could get the Amplifeel 2.0 because it’s a better shoe for me, and they flat out said NO. They used to be way more accomdating with the wteam years back

Well if you play tournaments with 2 matches about 1.30 to 2 hours each , every single day , for 4 days in a row under 35 celcius. Believe me it is hard to generate effortless power , plus i play with 16L but whatever its all personal.

I thought the blade was certainly hard to generate power with if we're speaking of weight and balance, not being in prime physical shape to handle it, etc.

Definitely was not low on power like many suggest though. Just takes a lot out of you.

Why is pictures of the v8 being removed, it's not a secret anymore Raonic got clips of them on his Instagram acount so it's not like Wilson is hiding it

Looks like the V8 100 that will soon eat into sales of v7 100. Thanks for the photos (while they last)

Very tempted to get two of these with the matching service. I like the cosmetic and the specs sound perfect for me if I add a leather grip.
