I'm watching the stream. Brown is taking it to Querrey! He should do at least as well as Ram on the tour. While his serve isn't as good as Ram's, he's more atheletic and seems to have more feel.

He's clearly taken Sam by surprise ....... I still think Sam will win, but he's gonna have to figure Dusty out f-a-s-t !!!

Dustin up a break in the second. Nice to see him doing well, I remember he had some decent results in South Africa.

This would be a great win for Dusty. 108 beating the number 1 seed and 19 in the world.

Right, terrible draw.
If Querrey looses again like last years final against Rajeev Ram he´s really a ********.

uh oh ...... broken in the second set, too!
melzer came back from a set down to this guy, but querrey may not be quite fast enough today

Querry is tanking it. he didn't want to play minor league tennis anyway...just came to pick up some apprearance money..

Sam will be so angry he may make a face for a few seconds.

no,,,he tanked it. Brown knew Sam had no interest in winning this match. so he was just rushing the net and playing reckless and knew Sam was just going to give it to him...:)

Querrey did look a little disinterested out there...credit Brown though, he played very well.

completely agree !!! either Sam was tanking it, or he still doesn't know what hit him ... in 47 minutes!!!

...... Mahut up next ...... he's probably not even ready at less than an hour of play! :)

Hadn't seen Dancevic in a while, could be a good one against Mahut.

Dancevic is a Great player. He is so POOR that he can't travel to europe too often so you only see him in america and canada mostly.....LOL.....He has the HOTTEST girlfriend in tour though.....:):)

You're joking right? (serious question). No one who is purposely tanking a match gets upset or bothered. Dustin kicked his ass. That's how Dustin has always played. If he's on fire, he'll blow most people off the court. When he's not he'll make a ton of errors.

Big ups to Dustin for taking out the top seed!

It was the first time i watched him play today. I heard about him in the past and i was really interested in seeing him for a while now. He played great and the serve and volley is fun to watch! :)

ROTFL..................next you will be saying Dustin is a top 20 player,,,right ?????? LOL. Querry took like 3 seconds between serves and didn't even look at where he was going to serve most of the time......he was just rushing to get OUT of there and BACK home.......LOL:)

I know! he barely even moved out there today ... plus the other guy was serving fast too :)

Mahut keeps grabbing his lower back. This might be a short one too! :(

I'm sure you know exactly what Querrey was thinking you immature little brat. My apologies as it's 'obvious' he tanked it. Were you looking through his eyes and noticing that he wasn't looking where he was going to serve? He's rushing to get back home for what? Doesn't he have points to defend? (even if they are small in the big picture).

All I'm saying is that you can't say he tanked it for sure. What, is there some sort of pride that you lost b/c he lost? You think he looks bad b/c he lost to such a low ranked player? I don't understand why people like yourself can't just be happy for others.

And I never mentioned anything about his ranking or where he 'should' be. He's had a really tough life when it comes to breaking through on the tour. I'm just happy to see him getting some wins in. There are some major things he'll have to do in order to be ranked that high. Not that it's impossible, but things I believe are a big necessity.

It's possible Querrey was just tired from Wimbledon. Which would be pathetic b/c he's a professional athlete. And a young one at that. Typically when one person is moving along as quickly as Dustin does, the other player (unless they're smart) tends to follow suit.

I really hope Mahut stays healthy.

Rajeev was up 5-1 in the third with match points, now it's all square, what gives? His serve stats are terrible. I don't know what's going on, heat stroke maybe?

Ram was up 5-0 in the third, and now he's lost the match! Oh my God. This wasn't even Roger Federer he was facing. Rajeev is going to want to kill himself after this.

Ram's title at Newport last year was the highest point in his career. This loss is the lowest point in his career. My God.

Mahut injured his back.
oh no... poor mahut. :?
but at least if he finished the match, i guess it's not too serious...

at least brown qualified, good win for him against querrey ! :)

Nb: too bad, i just saw that bozoljac lost 76 76 in the 1st round, against klaasen (?), serving 17 aces... and 15 DF !

I want to see this Brown guy follow up and do well for the rest of summer and maybe get a direct Entry into US open. maybe he can play Federer in the 1st round and upset him. :)

Ryan Harrison rips a forehand DTL passing shot, the best shot of the match, on MP for the win.

[WC] Harrison d. [WC] Kudla 7-5, 7-6 (5)

Only two of the eight seeded players (Fish and O. Rochus) are still alive after two rounds. Up next for Ryan in the QF is Richard Bloomfield of GBR, 9 years his elder and ranked 552 in the world.

Mahut injured his back.
Ah-ha! That's why he lost! I thought Mahut should win easily. He just played Dancevic a couple of weeks ago in the 1st round of the qualies at Wimbledon and killed him 6-3, 6-0.

I guess that marathon Isner match really did take a toll on Mahut's body. Poor Mahut. I hope he recovers soon.

I sat front row at center court today. Brown's first serve is crazy, and he went for broke the entire match. Fish played very well. Back in the thread someone posted about harrison maturing. haha well thats not the case at all. he was the only player in the tourney that would yell or throw his racquet. haha he said "these courts are so bad, its comical" and "awesome your playing smart and good". he played well, he just needs to keep it together up stairs

Who knows? As you mentioned, we can't read their minds. Querrey's world no. 19, yet just a few weeks ago he lost to Ginepri in the first round of the FO.

Personally, I'm happy when a player comes along who's stylish and shakes up the established order. Hopefully, Dusty will have a good North American hard court run up to the USO.

What's the story about Brown's national affiliation? According to the ATP website, he was born in Germany and also resides there

yeah brown is Jamaican even though he was born in germany. i think either his mom or dad is from Jamaica and they might have moved down there for a bit. The Jamaican Tennis Federation never showed Brown any love
