theJuniorACE said:dude,
he may have lost both of his DC matches to russia,
but they were both 5 setters, in which he was amazing, but came up short to safin and tursonov, so cut him some slack.
i feel for him to have lost, but he is mos definetely a threat to anyone on clay
i knew it was a italian dude....but i dont no why i put french...maybe coz i was talking about gasquet plus for gasquet whos really good on clay cant beat a low ranked player, signs of problems for me because he will have a difficult draw in french open because he is not ranked high enough to be seededSaito said:Actually it was a no name Italian (Azzaro or something like that....) that beat him. It's a **** off for me, but what're you gonna do right? He didn't even have to play the qualies either. I heard he hopped in just to get more matches in, and now he misses the draw. Bummer

Anyways, what exactly did he lose in? The topic sounds like he was playing in some qualifying tournament, but isn't he ranked pretty high?

Why?? Isn't this the same awesome talent that beat Federer last year? He's like the French Ginepri.

Tchocky said:It's amazing that Gasquet even has to qualify for this tournament. He was a semifinalist in Monte Carlo last year taking out Fed in the quarters and a finalist in Hamburg. Richard is having the worst start of his short career. Gasquet had a 2-0 record against Hrbaty coming into this match but because Richard is playing so poorly...I think that is what made him the underdog. I don't know what the moneyline was on this match because Hrbaty was originally scheduled to play Rainer Schuettler. Don't even know if wagers were accepted on this match because Gasquet was a last minute substitue.
