Gasquet just lost to an unknown french dude well for me anyway in final round of qualfying do any of u think he will get far in roland garros?

Should have put this in the match results.I think the fact that he didnt play Monte Carlo and then not play Rome might hurt him.We will see, dangerous guy though.

i last saw him play in hamburg i think......he played ok but lost to the better man vliegen who has been on top form

but they were both 5 setters, in which he was amazing, but came up short to safin and tursonov, so cut him some slack.
i feel for him to have lost, but he is mos definetely a threat to anyone on clay

Anyways, what exactly did he lose in? The topic sounds like he was playing in some qualifying tournament, but isn't he ranked pretty high?

He did really bad at Aussie open and tournements before that but regrouped and beat Haas in a 5 set thrilling match in Davis Cup and played very well at Pacific Life Open untill falling to Fed in the RD of 16. It seems that he is playing bad because coming off an injury and lack of match play but whenever he seems to regroup and starts playing well again he gets an another injury(stomach muscle pull in Davis Cup QF loss to Russia). If you watched Gasquet play last year he played well in almost every tournement he entered. P.S. Ginepri's performance last year was a fluke.

Gasquet was able to get in as a Lucky Loser because Schuettler pulled out. He took out my man Hrbaty which sucks because I had him in a 7 match parlay with Starace, Almagro, Melzer, Novak, Chela & Pavel. Damn you Schuettler...you just cost me a lot of money. I hope you lose in the 1st round at Roland Garros.

Gasquet is very talented, indeed. Beautiful tennis.
Maybe he'll need to get used to play Roland Garros in front of fellow French crowd. He's still very young. Last year, Gasquet (and Monfils) looked as immature players during the FO. I think that's because they're young and they're playing their "home Grand Slam", and they're the French promises.
This year Gasquet should do better, but I don't see him getting through the later rounds yet.

It's amazing that Gasquet even has to qualify for this tournament. He was a semifinalist in Monte Carlo last year taking out Fed in the quarters and a finalist in Hamburg. Richard is having the worst start of his short career. Gasquet had a 2-0 record against Hrbaty coming into this match but because Richard is playing so poorly...I think that is what made him the underdog. I don't know what the moneyline was on this match because Hrbaty was originally scheduled to play Rainer Schuettler. Don't even know if wagers were accepted on this match because Gasquet was a last minute substitue.
